>WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump's campaign is piling on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over a phrase he used to apparently describe some of Trump's supporters: "Listless vessels."
“Looks like Ron DeSanctimonious just had his ‘Basket of Deplorables’ moment,” said Trump senior adviser Jason Miller, referring to a comment that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton made about Trump backers during the 2016 presidential campaign.
The DeSantis campaign said the comment referred not to voters, but to Trump and his supporters in Congress.
"Donald Trump and some congressional endorsers are 'listless vessels.' Why? Because Trump and DC insiders feel he is entitled to your vote,” said DeSantis spokesman Bryan Griffin.
Trump himself has yet to respond to DeSantis' comment, but his spokesperson, Steven Cheung, also said "DeSantis goes full-blown Hillary," on X, the social media platform known as Twitter...

The truth spoken plainly can
The truth spoken plainly can not be tolerated by about 1/3 of the United States. This causes just a few problems and a huge multifaceted industry has been developed to coddle this thin skinned segment of society and tell them only what they want to hear. It is quite an amazing sociological accomplishment and one that sociologists will study for years. It would be a real bad idea for this societal segment to be in charge of the whole country. This of course is exactly what they want so they don't ever have to pay any real attention to anyone whole disagrees with them.

Well said Gunk. It's for this reason that I've basically lost all faith in humanity, save for my own family.
It's staggering on daily basis how Trump still has even ONE supporter, defies all logic and reason and upsets me greatly.
I guess I had thought Americans were better than that, but I was wrong.
I guess I'm just a humongous fan of truth and reality.

I'm a big fan of truth also. Science ain't perfect, but it is the best endeavor humans have come up with to try and get to some truths. Science isn't afraid of being wrong and excepts course correction as more truth is discovered and understood. Anti-science folks are a problem for humanity IMO.
