Although it's dry, I'm finding the panelist's introductions to the various entities somewhat fascinating. It's amazing to me that they're working on so much and getting accomplished and coordinated.

I am often reminded by the enormous numbers of weed stores in Eugene, advertising, etc., that we never thought that legalization would happen. It's astounding, and Greg's mind would be blown, too.

sonoma county ag commissioner just went on a huge rant about over regulation killing the market. local jurisdictions ability to make their own regulations has been at times creating hugely over regulated local markets and uncertainty. the first hoots from the audience came when he said that except for a few minor exceptions like odor abatement, cannabis "should be regulated just like any other agricultural crop". close to the end he was informed by senator mcguire he only had 30 seconds left and the crowd booed the senator, by the end of the speech he got a lengthy standing ovation, the audience really got loud for a moment there.

I am really impressed by the seriousness with which the presenters are approaching the process, the problems, and their support for the growers.

It will be great when the banking and tax issues are resolved. There are so many things...

I loved the supportive respect given to everyone by everyone. Really great.

really bummed i wasnt in ukiah last night but the livestream was a welcome surprise.

i am now working with a licensed company in mendo as farm manager, but before this year all the circles i ran with were firmly planted in the black market...and in those crowds there is little to no positivity around prop 64, which is understandable...it can be hard to move from an untaxed unregulated business into one of the most heavily regulated and taxed markets in the history of the USA.

but some mettings like this are giving me hope...senators and reps are asking tough questions that are on the minds of every grower right now. there is already legislation being passed to amend some of the more restrictive aspects of prop 64.

did you watch the whole thing judit???

Those who want less regulation of the market would have been far better off with the previous legalization proposition defeated a couple years before.  I am hoping that over time some of the objections we are hearing will fall to the wayside as legal recreational sales of weed becomes normalized even to those who think they will get high and fuck a cat if the smell of weed drifts off someone's property.
