23 years ago today WE witnessed the final Grateful Dead show.

My wife, Linda, and I went to Soldier Field on our honeymoon.

The tour was doomed from the start, but the hotel staff sure loved our leftover wedding cake!

I had actually turned to my brother and cousin at the time and said that it was the last show (although was thinking more along the lines re: crap that was going on at Deer Creek and such).

I forgot it was today too.  I was not at soldiers but at Deer Creek before, the end was clearly in sight, gate crashers suck!  Great thought for a honeymoon!
