The Molly Tuttle show was a real treat last night in Columbus, Ohio. She has a wonderful band, as always.
Molly started with a double neck, 12 and 6 string, and played stellar from the beginning. Mair Meyer on mandolin, fiddle and keys played a lot of dueling instruments with Molly. The electric and steel guitar player was featured with Molly as well. Bass player was great, I love a stand up bass.
On Down Home Dispensary, Molly played the banjo. The drummer came out front and played washboard.
A fiddle player, I think Ketch Secor from Old Crow came out on Yosemite which was very sweet. He played on a tune later in the show, sorry I can't remember which one, but the fiddler was with the whole band, Mair on mandolin, which was an incredible, smoking jam.
Molly did play her new tune, That's Gonna Leave a Mark, she was very cute playing it, with that Molly flare, and it was played well, my least favorite song of the night though. Mair added nicely to it on the keyboards. Most songs were Molly's more bluegrass tunes. The show was very energetic and the musicians were all excellent. I also love a girl band with a male roadie. Molly's show was wonderful and I'm so glad I went, I almost passed it up because I thought it would be all like the new song, but that would have been a huge mistake.
On another note, I was sad to have missed the Steve Hacket show in Columbus, I was out of town, I will do my best not to miss that if he ever comes around again.
