Magic Mushroom locales

Forums:

Where are good places around the world for finding them.

Haultla de Jimenez in Mexico is legendary for them since the 50's and 60's when a lot of rock stars were there. Everything is about shrooms there. Mushroom postcards, embroidered clothes. All the locals use them. Was there in 94.

San Jose del Pacifico also in Mexico is also known for them. And what a beautiful setting for taking them.

I found a huge bag of them one day in May 95 in Uruguay around  La Paloma which is a beach town in the north. Some kid told me they were there and went searching in the cow fields and found a huge bag in about 3 hours. After some time of not finding any I then found my first one so knew they were there. As time went on my eyes were more adept at finding them and soon everywhere I looked I found some. And boy were they good.

    Very Nice.......

Hotel room in Huautla with all the walls painted by people shroomed out with my daughter in local garb.

I started finding them in my PO box a few years ago...

I remember that story. I would only pick cubensis since that's where my knowledge ends.

Back in Florida, when one bought a bag of mushrooms, you were paying somebody to go out to the cow fields and bring back a Publix sack full of wet mushrooms.

In 1976, Port Townsend, WA hosted a one of the first international conferences about psychedelic mushrooms. I wasn't there, of course, but I found the files on it while doing some research at the ACLU office I was working at in Seattle. Breitenbush Retreat Center also hosted an event.

There are some great pics here of the mushroom pioneers: https://erowid.org/library/books_online/mushroom_pioneers/mushroom_pione...

Interesting to see Dr. Andrew Weil on that page, as he is now a popular celebrity alternative medicine expert.

Pretty much any cow pasture in the Pacific NW, they didn't used to be hard to find...Haven't seen gooey fresh ones in years, though.

those things grow in the weirdest places...smiley

Has anyone here tried Fly Agaric? If so what's it like?

I bought some different type of shrooms in Huautla de Jimenez that was told they grew on a tree. Took them and my heart started racing and I thought they were poison and was going to die. I thought panicing would make things worse so I just layed down in bed and really thought I could die and waited for it. Just had a miserable trip laying in bed the whole time with feelings like someone was putting pressure on the sides of my brain.

Now that was funny Joe....best post all day

The PO box post... not the dying one....jeez, two Joe's in a row....what are the odds...

I was mountain Biking in the hills near Champagne, Fr. with my wife a fine automne day, stopped on a grassy hillside, for a breather, in front of my face i found one , then a hundred or so liberty caps,, now I get that statue thingie on Liberty Island.....
