I'm looking forward to this, but I do wish prequels would go away and die. I don't want to know that much about what is going to happen when I start a movie
Looking forward to this one. Over the past 6 months there has been a lot of filming a couple of spots within walking distance of my home. The story of the mob at the time of the Newark riots is an interesting facet of that time. Pretty much all of Newark was gutted except the Italian neighborhood which was better protected than the White House was then.
Legends aren't born. They're made. Check out the trailer for the upcoming movie, The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to the drama series, The Sopranos.
Why do we have to sit through an ad before we watch a trailer (which is an ad) on YouTube?
Most of my students are 18-21 years old, and when I've mentioned The Sopranos in class, I usually get a roomful of blank stares. Many haven't heard of the show, and most have never seen it. Maybe this big screen prequel will generate some interest for the original series in the post-Millenial demographic.
Anyone else seeing a resemblance between Tony's mom in the prequel and Carmela in the series?
The only saint I know from Newark is Liberty the cat that was found on the streets there as a kitten in 2007 and is still giving good vibes and love today. Don't have a pic close by. Maybe later.
And James Gandolfini had a house in my town. Said he regretted selling it. He said he loved that people and going to the local supermarket and people treated him like a local.
I was in Cleveland years ago and was watching the Sopranos in my hotel room and Tony Soprano mentioned meeting someone at a local park right down the street from where I live in the burbs in NJ. And I mean BURBS! It shocked me until I found out that he owned a house like a mile from there.
