My company cancelled all our trips to PR for the next few weeks so no time in the sun :/ I'll have to wait til December... if the island is still there, of course.

No bueno. The island has not been hit by a storm of this size since 1928. There has been a great deal of construction since then and much of it was not designed to stand up to this type of wind. 80% of the homes in some communities are damaged or destroyed. The flooding is going to be even worse. The island's power grid is not up to mainland standards and some folks are talking months before power is restored to all locations. This is something that will affect the island for a long time and probably drive many residents to the mainland.
there are still 300 or so without electric in my county. I can tell when a street gets power on. We get a service call on it within 4 hours.
Dirty electric all over the place and it will be another month before it is all cleaned up. We want 240 volts....dirty electric is from 190-290 volts. Shit fries.
Some lady was on the radio beefholing about there is still tree limbs waiting to be picked up. She said she had her yard cleaned in one day and the county should have it all picked up in 24-48 hours.
When questioned who cleaned her yard she said her lawn man and landscaper. She was politley informed that a paid yard man needs to take all the wate to the dump and not the county as per local laws.
Not normal but having electric and AC makes a world of difference. My front yard has about 3 ft piles of limbs and branches across the whole length, and the stump is still left in a giant mortar hole where it fell over. The tree removal from the county will take a long time, everywhere you look yards are piled with debris from the storm. Insurance adjuster came out on Friday, and I am waiting to get my roof repaired along with the front yard. I still love living in Florida even though it has been a while since I last went fishing. Bring on the cold (luke warm really) weather
