Ro, we were lucky enough to go to Lanai when DNB (mostly acoustic) played last year. It was lovely. Spent some time at the beach, people snorkled, there was sun and shade, then back to the harbor-side open air pavillion for lunch and the music. Totally pleasant.

Yeah. That Lanai trip was a huge highlight.  And that beach may be my favorite on the islands.

Ro, any shows going on while you're over there?

at Charley's, perhaps?

I don't know about any shows, haven't looked, but I should!

last time, Santana played outside and it was an amazing show!

I have never been to Lanai... sounds like I need to check it out!

The locals call him Uncle Larry.

aloha

Nice, Ro! Enjoy your time in paradise.

Hi Ro! how can you give up all this for some sunny beach smiley

Ski resorts off Lake Tahoe’s South Shore received 17 inches of new snow within 24 hours.

Both Sierra-at-Tahoe and Kirkwood Mountain reported 17 inches Friday morning, while Heavenly Mountain Resort reported 16 inches.

The totals come as the second of three storms continues to dump snow in the region. Another 2 to 4 feet of snow is expected to fall at lake level over the weekend in the Sierras, according to the National Weather Service.

Always enjoy/ed your traveling threads. Thanks for sharing.

RO thanks for Sharing yes

I don't know the name of the beach on Lanai, but it may be the only public beach near the ferry landing in the harbor. I think it's either a county or state park and had a great bathroom.

Thanks for that!

"Near" is a relative term. Like maybe a 15 minute walk, or there may be taxi's. Mark and Gary were there, too.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos and cool stories of Island Life.

Enjoy!

Hulopoe Beach on Lanai

our boat docked in the Manele Small Boat Harbor, and we walked from there to the beach... maybe a couple tenths of a mile walk, flat the whole way

once we were at the nice sandy beach, me and a couple others snorkeled the rocky coast to the right as you're looking out at the ocean... some real nice coral and lava formations, and lots of colorful fish, but as I recall there were some pretty big swells and you had to be careful not to get swept against the rocks

>>Phil getting lei'd<<

Funny story-

My first surf trip to the North Shore Oahu in '76 i stayed with a friend Jack and his family. One day his mom says: " Jack, did you get your friend laid (lei'd)?  I was shocked, yet hopeful, thinking i was gonna get hooked up.  Of course everyone had a big laugh, but i was disappointed.
