Is that photo of Phil w/the bottle dated?

Maybe from the Too Loose To Truck era in the Mid-70's?

Mrs Robin deposited this in my hanging basket on the deck this morning. Now I have to stear clear of the deck for a while.

Took her about a week to build the nest

RocknRye, those blooms in your Thursday post at 10:19 AM are outrageous. What are they?

First decent outbreak of mountain thunderstorms in the PNW this spring.  They're pretty weak, but make for pretty clouds and perhaps a few beneficial downpours.

Thanks Mike, the first one is clematis, the second one I'm not sure (even though I planted it last year!) and the last is ice plant. All are perennials that will come in stronger and larger every year.

taz, I think you should install a robin cam so we can all see the progression.

I remember when I was in my early teens I came across a baby robin in the street, took it home, dropper fed it, taught it how to fly. The next year it came back, I could call it and she would come very near and hang out. At least I think it was the same one!

Thanks, RnR.

Nice Adobe work on the nest!

Those are beautiful boats fishcane.  Do you take em out in fast moving water?

Thanks! Mostly big Lakes and deep rivers.  They can handle quite a bit and have a good deal of stability, they were originally designed as guiding boat to bring clients deer hunting and fishing in the Adirondack mountains where it was easier to travel by water then anything else.
Here we are in an Adirondack race, 10.5 miles thru 3 lakes and a river(plus a portage) last weekend in the boat on the right from the first pic.

Wow that's so cool!!  Are both of you using oars and do the seats slide back and forth like a true row/scull motion?  I recently bought a used Old Town Discovery 158, Nothing quite like those beauties but still very cool.  If I can ever remember how to post pics I'll take a few.

Nice! Yes love to see it, I love all manner of self propelled watercraft! I'm sort of a boat addict

so, another very unique feature of a guideboat is that in the 2 person setup one person rows and the other person, facing forward, paddles a traditional canoe paddle to steer. The oars were traditionally fixed pinned so that they can be dropped at a seconds notice if a deer or other quarry presented itself. The seat is fixed also. Some people have modified guideboats to accept sliding oar seat rigs and featherable oars but they aren't allowed in the racing classes. It's actually considered the fastest fixed seat/fixed oar traditional rowing craft on the planet.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.  I wanted to get a canoe for the longest time and I'm psyched about finding a nice OT for a great price...$200 with paddles.  Planning a few overnight trips with an old friend this summer.  I even have a lead on a OT 169, May scoop that up depending on its condition.

I may have sent that to you Judit.

Geez, can you see Bob's eyes? He was excited for Carly, that horn dog.

I wish you had sent it, Slickrock, I would have had it sooner. I just got it off Facebook yesterday and I really like it.

Guess I didn't. I did download that a few weeks ago it seems like. "Properties" says 3-13.
