MC5 tomorrow night

Forums:

Well technically its the MC50, with Wayne Kramer celebrating the proto-punk band's 50th anniversary tomorrow night at the Roseland.   Kramer will be kicking out the jams with help of Marcus Durant (Zen Guerrilla) on vocals and Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, and Faith No More bassist Billy Gould.

Should be a rocking time.   That band was so hard core, they played a riot.  I hear bassist Duff McKagan sat in with them at the LA show last week and Jello Biafra joined them on stage at the SF show.

Anyone else catch this tour or seen the MC5 back in the day?

Saw them in Boston in 1968. Not really my thing.

My wife went to the SF show. The band rocks.

Where have you gone, P.J.?

Looking forward to seeing them Wednesday in Vancouver BC - the same day Canada legalizes cannabis.

If you have the opportunity,  I highly recommend seeing PiL. Saw them on Saturday.  Johnny Rotten put on a few pounds and he's not the lunatic he used to be but his voice sounds great. The band is awesome.  Thumping beats all night

Show was great!   Didn't know many of the songs, but a well played, very high energy show from start to finish.  That dude Wayne Kramer is not a bad guitar player and I hope I have his level of energy when I am that old.   Crowd was digging it.

W. Kramer was interviewed on the most recent Dana Gould Podcast Hour.
