Mexican Lager

Forums:

I like the idea but nobody is getting it right.

Most Mexican lagers have probably changed recipes like most big beers have. Everything is too syrupy.

Sierra Brut IPA is getting closer to the end of the rainbow. I know it's not a Lager but what is these days?

Who still makes a good dry Lager or Pilsner?

Negro Modelo my choice

Negro Modelo my choice

Upslope Lager out of Boulder. My go to. In fact I’m going right now.

Bohemia is my favorite Mexican Pilsner.  It’s a little harder to find in Mexico, but it’s the only beer there I taste the hops.  I remember when Negra Modelo was hard to find there.

I am having a Margarita on the rocks. Not to change subjects or anything yet that is what I did.

The house mix.

My old co-worker from Mexico City liked Modelo. We played a lot of golf and drank a lot.

My other co-workers from poorer Mexican states liked Budweiser. We hardly ever played golf. Good people. They liked bad beer.

Bohemia is a decent enough beer for those latitudes.   Its funny how lots of the neighborhood cervezarias are owned directly by the two megabreweries - either Modelo or Tecate - and only carry those brews.

Dos Equis Lager, because it was first brewed by a German and German Lagers are the best in the world.

I always preferred Sol or Bohemia, which were easier to find in Tucson than Mexico when I was living there in 2004-2005.
