Guess Mitt is one of those traitors who believes the [redacted] report.
p.s. I was tempted to give Mitt shit for a Flake/Collins type of statement. But where are the other Republicans? Willard deserves a few points for this, as he made it clear that the Trump campaign gladly accepted the help of Russia, lied about it, then tried to cover it up. On the other hand, his first sentence is a lie, as Mueller cited 10 cases of obstruction of justice, but left it up to Congress.
According to my son who is in law school and just did a moot court on an "attempted" crime issue, there is actually a crime of attempted obstruction of justice and Barr (who is a graduate of his school) was an idiot for not thinking more about that angle. I haven't looked into that myself, but seems to make sense.

I never understood how they could attempt to square that circle. If you direct others to commit a crime, even if they dont follow through with your obviously stupid instruction, thats a crime. The intent is quite clear what Trump was after. The biggest nugget to me in the whole obstruction angle of the report was the section speaking about Paul Manafort and his belief the president would pardon him. That would tend to indicate exactly why he decided to lie in his testimony, or not offer all the information he knew. Claiming that isnt obstruction just because the president has a power to pardon is ridiculous and certainly not the intent of the folks who wrote the consitution. The DOJ has operated under the mistaken impression a president can not be indicted due in large part to a policy crafted by a man that was trying to sheild the criminal actions of a president. It makes my head explode sometimes.
Is this the same Mitt who called a press conference to call Orange Mussolini (OM) a fraud, and then was humiliated by OM as he kowtowed and dined seeking a job in his cabinet?
Could it be a failed presidential candidate will be looking for a way to a nomination? Moved to Utah from Massachusetts to take over Orrin Hatch's seat. He's practically a saint in Utah.
For some humor, consider this. What do Mitt's church leaders say?

The documents show that Joseph Smith did prophesy a number of times that the United States and the Constitution would be imperiled and that the elders would have a hand in saving them. The first known record of the prophecy dates to July 19, 1840, in Nauvoo, when the prophet spoke about the redemption of Zion. Using Doctrine & Covenants 101 as a text, he said, “Even this nation will be on the verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground and when the Constitution is on the brink of ruin this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction.” (Joseph Smith Papers, LDS Church Historical Archives, Box 1, March 10, 1844.)
There are also other documents in Church History files that show that five different early Saints recorded some remarks by the Prophet Joseph Smith on this same prophecy, perhaps voiced by the Prophet a number of times in a number of ways after 1840.
In a Pioneer Day celebration in Ogden in 1871, Eliza R. Snow said, “I heard the prophet say, ‘The time will come when the government of these United States will be so nearly overthrown through its corruption, that the Constitution will hang as it were by a single hair, and the Latter-day Saints—the Elders of Israel—will step forward to its rescue and save it.” (Journal History, MSF 143 #28, July 24, 1871.)
Now the constitution may not be "hanging by a thread", but many folks interpret things in various ways to justify their actions.
Mitt may think he's on a mission. Chew on that. Happy Saturday.
