Love and comfort to ya, Crabneesh.

Much love and respect Crab.

Thank you Zooey. She posted this photo for me as I am lame.

It was taken by another friend in 1985 (Steve was 34  years old).

In this photo he was growing his hair back in. He had blonde hair & had it in a "Hollywood". It  was a blonde flat-top that was about 3/4" long on top with long sides that he died black & greased them back into "DuckTails". He called it a "Two Tone Hollywood With Wings."

We had so much fun. A true lover of music he liked all types. He saw Jerry 100s of times including a European Tour with Brother Blaise. We saw everything from Johnnie Cash to Iggy Pop. We used to visit the Mabuhay Gardens all the time seeing all the up & coming Punk bands such as Devo, The Dead Kennedys etc.

He held the distinction of being 86ed from both The Fillmore & the Mabuhay Gardens for the same offense. His offense was lingering too long in the clubs after closing. One night Bill Graham literally ass kicked him out of The Fillmore & another time Dirk Dirksen head-butted him out of The Mabuhay.  Another time we were at Bimbo's & he was wearing a nice sport coat & while adequately dosed he was crawling on the floor under the tables & was escorted out. Another time we saw the 1st Experience Hendrix show @ The Warfield with Santana et al & a girl in the crowd beat his dosed ass. He was doing a Prince imitation.

He wasn't always kicked out. We saw 100s of great shows.

When his house burned we lost 100s of photos of him with so many of our heroes. Lots of shots of him with Jerry, Leary & many many others.

Dear Cabneesh, your heart touches mine sweetly and deeply. You hold Steven so near, he's part of you.

Blaise, you, too.

Peace and love to you.

Your brother looks like Sean Penn

When Phil opened TXR he did 4 "Soft Opening" shows. I went the 2nd night & told Steven about it the next morning. I went that night to the 3rd show but he didn't show up so I bugged him the next morning & he came that night, the 4th night of the "Soft Opening",  with his girlfriend.

We got  there early & met up & got in line. Once those 2 were in line I left & then returned with a pizza to eat in line. By this time his girlfriend who was drunk had wandered off. He went looking for her & found her drinking with some people in the lot.

Phil opened the door & greeted us & Steven & I went in & sat @ the bar. After a few minutes he went back out to find her.  Upon locating her they got back in line & when they got to the door security already knew his girlfriend by name & as she had been fucking up in the lot & they were denied entry.

I think they were te 1st ones 86ed from TXR.

Ask Joel about his adventure with her in line.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

When we love we love for keeps.

Here is an act we saw together that expresses what I think we all feel.

Man , I have to ask you,  what was it like being greeted at the door by ,Phil,  before Steven became concerned ?

Mr Jaz, Phil was as gracious & welcoming as can be imagined.

It would have been nice if he had been there to kick my sorry ass out on the last day.

His is a class act.
