NBA 2020

Forums:

I'm pretty excited about the season not sure why. I guess it's because it is always the best time of year to be a Kings fan, before the crushing reality sets in. At least this year there is zero expectation. We might be better than OKC and 30 wins will be an accomplishment. Not convinced that Fox is going to be a super star unless he starts hitting the three. Small fast guys that have to drive the paint to score don't last in the NBA. This is the year for Bagley who will always be the guy that got drafted before Donic. If Haliburton ends up rookie of the year and Bagley and Fox step up then maybe we sneak in at 10, but not likely.

Anyway in the real NBA world it will be good to have a good old fashioned Celtics Lakers final in packed arenas next summer.

Celtics in 7, and as always fuck the Lakers.

Nets, Sixers and Heat will run the East.

The West has the Lakers, Clippers, Nuggets, with the Jazz, Suns and Trailblazers just behind.

Injuries, as always, will factor heavily.

Some trades will happen.  Where's Harden going?

Brooklyn over Denver in 6 for the ring.

My Magic will be very luck if they hold the eighth playoff slot

We need to dump Aaron Gordon but I don't think they will get much in return.

I like the coach and the players have not quit on him, and they appear to play hard for him, but no alpha talent.

saw something on Roku and installed TNT to watch a game last night, but then saw the timer counting down from 10 minutes for my "trial"

TNT is no longer installed on my Roku

I'd be happy to watch some sports with commercials, but definitely not going to pay to see.

Granted it was local sports, but somehow they were able to make a dime way back when it was just "tv" ... and almost completely dependent upon commercial revenue

i think it's pretty lame to start just like 2 mos after the lakers went to the finals.

should have waited until the new year, but hey, its $$$

Lakers over Clippers

Bucks over Nets

Lakers over Bucks

It's a talent and experience league.

Herbal I see you going out there with the early Suns pick. Chris Paul and Crowder are going to help but how much?

Wow, the Warriors were just terrible last night, with Wiggins leading the way down. He was HOOOOOOORIBLE!

With Thompson lost for the season the main question leading into their season has been can Wiggins be a consistently good scorer. Curry isn't the type of player who can single-handedly dominate a game, and if Wiggins can't handle that #2 scoring roll it could be another long season for the Dubs.

Klay Thompson being out another full year is such a drag. I get bored so fast watching basketball on TV, but he & Curry are always fun to watch. It's a shame that both of those guys' late prime could go to waste.

The rookie Wiseman looked OK, especially considering he's only 19, played a total of three college games and has had zero practices with his team. Everyone seems to be pretty excited about his potential. We'll see.

"The Ringer" Kevin Durant looked like he didn't miss a day of practice and was unstoppable, as always. It seems that it was just a few years ago that an achilles tear was the end of any athlete's career. If Durant lasts, what an example of modern medicine he'll be (especially when one has access/can afford the very best of everything).

I have no idea who will be at the top at the end. The Nets with Durant look real good, and lots of people talk about the Bucks. When I was a kid I always liked the Milwaukee Bucks. I felt bad for them when Kareem ditched them for LA.

I guess as usual there are lots of teams in the west who are real good, but it seems like the Lakers are so loaded it's hard to bet against them, except what Turtle said about getting ground down. And LeBron is 35 with MILES on his body. What a freak that guy is.

So, eight weeks until pitchers & catchers report?

Yeah that Dubs game was just about unwatchable. KD looked great but let's wait and see how the Nets look playing a team with all their players.

feel terrible about klay.

he's a good egg and also lives here locally.

and the warriors have returned to bottom shelf.

Wow no mention of the real ringer Lance, Dramond Green. The idiot cost you one championship, and then ran KD out of town. Good Luck with that piece of trash still on your team. Cannot wait to see someone knock a few chicklets out of the kids big mouth, and empty head

Yeah, that darn Draymond.

He definitely held them back.

He's no good at all.

Fuck overtime win in Denver now I'm going to have expectations and that has only every worked out twice in my life.

Kings 2 -0

Lakers 1 -1

STOP THE COUNT

Kings beat the Clippers on a back to back in LA. Now 12 and 11 one game out of the playoffs and they have the rookie of the year. They are fun to watch which is all I ask for. Just wish we could go in person.

The Kings finally gave Kyle Guy some minutes off the bench.  Lots of good young players on that team.  Haliburton your ROTY?  La Melo might be hard to beat.

Jazz and Bucks are both looking tough.

I think the Wizards got taken in the Wall for Westbrook deal.

Haven't seen much of the Nets big 3 of Durant, Harden and Irving together yet.

Nets will just outscore you but the question is if they can stay healthy.

It's a fun season thus far.   Glad to have it back on so soon.

Derrick Rose to the knicks? wtf is everyone getting excited about a scoring point guard that only plays 20 minutes a game theses days will bring to the knicks?

I thought Tibs was going to try turning them around but he appears to be borrowing the owners playbook on this move
