NBA 23-24

Forums:

Playoff basketball in November. Have to say I'm loving the in season tournament and tonight is a big one. Kings - Warriors. Dramond's first game back from his mission to make Rudy Gobert into a loveable player. It's win and in for the Kings. National television and the cheap seats are going for over a $100 on a Tuesday night in November. Easties will have to stay up late but it will be worth it.

Nice seeing the Kings rise. The Magic have slowly been building talent thru the draft, and this team is loaded with long armed defensive minded talent. The second team is as good as the starters. Still another year or trade away from competing for the eastern crown, and need help from a three point marksman.

Sixers look really strong, let's see how they fuck it up.

when will the Lakers learn that AD is not a player to build your team around?

This year is all about the Celtic Green imo

>Sixers look really strong, let's see how they fuck it up.

Zach Levine would fuck things up, imo.

Overpaying for Caruso would be another wrong move.

Not a fan of the in season tournament.

The possibility of a season ending injury in a meaningless game seems foolish.

The in-season tournament games (except the championship game) count towards the season record, so they're not meaningless.  I'm not a fan of the in-season tournament because it just seems like a contrived money-grab.

At least the league ditched the Captain's Draft experiment with the All-Star Game and will go back to the traditional East vs. West match-up.

The title still runs through Denver.  Even with Jokic sitting out last night they beat the Clippers in L.A.  If Steve Ballmer had any hair left, he'd be pulling it out.  The Clippers appear to be having trouble integrating Harden in their system.

The Thunder and Timberwolves are playing well.  If the Pelicans get their guards healthy, they will be right there.

Houston is another young, talented team, on a simikar arc to Orlando's.

Detroit is an absolute mess, and Washington is not much better.

>except the championship game

I know.  As i wrote, the possibility of a season ending injury in a meaningless game seems foolish.

>when will the Lakers learn that AD is not a player to build your team around?<

i don't know...

he's a weird dude. its almost like he's sad he's that tall.

i am still on the fence for the tourney thing. i hated the idea of it but it's seemingly added a bit of pep to some of the long season.

Yeah either AD is in way more pain than any of us know or he is a party monster which is why he was so good in the bubble.

Agree that as of now it's a Boston Denver final but the Pelicans might be this years sleeper. I'm too close to the Kings to be objective of that, but they seemingly keep getting better, but right now they are one those teams where things go well when the 3 drops but if it doesn't they are toast. Those teams don't tend to go far into the playoffs.

Magic will have best record in nba after this back to back with the Bullets

Well that was fun

I like the tourney.   Never watched this part of the season and it adds flavor.  Need to work on the points as a decider factor thought.   That got ugly.

Agree the point differential is stupid but I do like how it fucks with the Vegas line a little.

About a week ago this happened.

De'Aaron Fox and Kevin were yelling at a fan in the front row when they were playing on the road -  towards the end of the game Kevin put in a layup undefended in garbage time, and after Kevin hit the lay up he looked and yelled something directly at that fan because they covered the line. Game over. Pretty funny.

mid season tourney is so useless

LOVED hearing my 76ers crush L.A.

game in New Orleans this night and i am hoping the nbcphillysports app will broadcast the game so i can get my KATE SCOTT (Alaa) ON!

this team caught my eye when Bellinelli was there and JoJo had on that crazy face guard for his damaged orbital bone.

been thru such drama as: the Beard and that Aussie clown. lol

Also tho have cheered thru young Maxey and EmbiidMVP!!!!!!!!!!

So tired of this bullshit of resting players during the season. Friday Celtics vs Sixers and the sixers sit Embid and Maxey

fuck them, who wants to watch that shit, fuckin process mother fuckers, chickenshit bullshit

Magic took it easy on the Bullets and played very little defense in two games, but still pulled out two wins and a bunch of points. Like watching a cat play with a captured mouse whose fate was sealed. Magic still a game behind best record in nba

There's a virus going around the Sixers team. Embiid also missed the prior game because he is sick.

I'm sorry Lumber but a divisional game to the team that leads you by 3 games?

an MVP does not miss that game

Regular season game number 19 is not a must win. You are clueless as to his condition but are sure he could play. That's a clown comment

Team leaders play that game unless you are on the Clippers or Sixers. Competitors play that game.

Almost 20% of the season is gone and your 3 games behind, simple math says play the game, even a clown can work that equation

Whatever you say,  Dr. Fabes.

5/5-1/5=4/5 of the season remaining.

Real math, The sixers have played about 23% of their season. And divisions are meaningless. The Sixers are aiming for a top 4 spot in the conference.

In season tournament is so stupid. Just kidding.

The Sea Birds own the Kings. Hopefully the Kings figure something out come playoff time.

Austin Reaves is such a rando talent.  Good to see hes reduced his behind the back move from last year that ended up in so many turn overs.  He defies logic

I wonder if the lake show had to win to give this cred.

Yeah my my wife was like who is that guy when Austin Reaves came into the game.

So I did hate the audience in the dark for the final were they trying to recreate the bubble experience. Probably why the Lakers won.

Ja Morant's suspension ends on the 19th.  Watch his addition bring the Grizzlies back to the only tournament that matters, the post-season one.

Don't bring your guns to town, Ja.

We will see on Ja. Not exactly an easy re entry. Dallas, Houston 2X, New Orleans 2X, OKC, Indiana, Denver, and the Kings.

>my my wife was like who is that guy <

it is HIM

>>.Ja Morant's suspension ends on the 19th

My nephew started working for the Griz this season.   He said it's been a tough start.

Austin Reaves talking about how no one believes he is a Laker including in game security

Can someone get Draymond an emotional support pet, or something?

total clown show

If allowed to continue to play he will end someone's career.

wish he tried that shit against charles oakley.

>>.wish he tried that shit against charles oakley.

Seriously.  The old Pistons or Knicks wouldn't let that shit happen.

People are calling for ten game suspension this time.   While I'm quick to throw him under the bus, I actually do believe he didn't intent do smack him in the face as hard as he did.  But he did.  And repeat offender with recent issues is not going to help his cause.  I'd be shocked at a ten game ban but not at another 5 game ban.

Klay sucks too.   They should blow up their starting team, let the hot bench support curry and get some assets back for Dray and Klay while they still can.

Yeah he never means it - it just always somehow happens to him. The reason he has had such light punishment is because of the players Union which I understand. No one wants to take money out of people's pocket. So now it's up to the players to decide. Do they want to risk their careers by playing with this guy. I don't think he will change at all unless he is out for the season. He hasn't even taken responsibility for last night, and wears the suspensions as a badge of  honor.

Oct 2022 - Draymond Green suspended for punching Jordan Poole

April 2023 - Draymond Green suspended 1 game for stomping Domantas Sabonis

Nov 2023 - Draymond Green, ejected after pushing Donovan Mitchell

Nov. 2023 - Draymond suspended for choking out Rudy Gobert

Dec 2023 - Draymond ejected for punching Nurkic(suspension incoming)

^^Nobody wants Green. And everyone can see that Thompson is washed.

Before 2022 wasn't he suspended a few times?

Isn't he a repeat penis toucher too?

bye bye Draymond, see ya next year......maybe

>>>Isn't he a repeat penis toucher too?

Hysterical.   i wish a reporter would ask that question.   "What is your obsession with touching other players penii?"

I disagree that no one wants Green.  I think there is still a group that wouldn't mind him in a limited role for the playoffs.  Off the bench especially.   The problem with the NBA is everyone gets into the playoffs and so the dubs will limp through the season knowing they will sneak in at the bottom and hope that everyone comes together for one more run.

Klay - is his streaky self he's always been but more so now than ever.  The bigger problem with Klay is he's in his own head.   But either of those players coming off the bench for a serious playoff team would be a nice option.  Don't have to use them but either can still be game changers depending on the day they are having.  Bucks, Celtics, etc.  I'm sure Lebron would love to Green on the Lakers to distract and instigate.  .

Yeah the indefinite ban is pretty interesting.  Strong move and to me suggests more than ten games.

^Green is signed through the 26-27 season  making 24,25, 27 million for the next three seasons respectively. The last is a player option. Only a fool would take on that contract.

If the warriors are willing to dump Thompson's 43 million contract for garbage or bad contracts, sure someone will bite.

>>>>.Only a fool would take on that contract.

Don't disagree but can't the dubs eat some of it. Green is too comfortable on that team. I respect the Dubs for investing long term in the players that won them champs, but it's time to turn the page and get the trash out the door.

^Nope. Salary cap rules come into play. Nobody wants Green's 25 million per year, for 3 years, too long to carry that baggage

>>>.Only a fool would take on that contract

are we talking about the Clippers again?

Clippers have one of the weirdest teams and decision making.

>>>.^Nope. Salary cap rules come into play. Nobody wants Green's 25 million per year, for 3 years, too long to carry that baggage

Got it.   That's tough for sure...

The Pistons like to think they can turn players around. Would love to see Green go there.

>>>The problem with the NBA is everyone gets into the playoffs

As Kings fans I feel like this is targeted at me.

No one would have ever believed back in 2010 that there would be 7 parades in 12 years in the Bay Area (and that none of the winning teams would include the NFL, or the A's).

I never thought I would see either the Giants or the Warriors win a championship in my lifetime.

And ever since the 80's when I started following the Warriors, I just hoped that some day I would see them just get to the Western Finals.

So yeah, Dray is dumpster fire train wreck, and the team is done, but I have no complaints.

I do feel kinda bad for Curry... he is still playing at such a high level, but this group is not going anywhere, and with the insane tax burden on home grown players who become superstars, there's no fixing the Warriors in the time he has left.

I would hate to see Curry finish his career elsewhere, but maybe it's time to burn the whole thing to the ground and get a some high draft picks for him while they can.

^ny talk radio has floated curry to the Knicks for Barrett and picks. Going to need more players to match salary though.
