Great American Music Hall

San Francisco, CA

Looks like fun!

Nelson has nice friends...

Interesting lineup. This looks to be leaning more to the New Riders than DNB. Does Pete Grant play pedal steel?

Lots of stuff happening that night, but this might win the day for me.

I imagine Kimock will help sell some tickets. In the past NRPS has not done well at that venue, and I hate it when they close off the balcony.

I'm with you Tom. Hoping Kimock can add enough sales to open whole venue. But I will be there. Hope to see you.

moving up to mendo that week and might have to miss this one. super bummed.

How convenient, I just so happen to be flying into SF that morning. Guess I'll be seeing all the cool kids that night..!!

Wins the day.

woah! hedspace, you moving back or just visiting?

Pete Grant indeed plays great Pedal Steel.

I have jammed with him more than once at Strawberry Music Festival.

He gave Garcia his first Pedal Steel Guitar and allegedly taught him how to operate that beast....

I'm in. Not gonna beat around the bush on David Nelson happenings. As always, it'll be fun to see you freaks !!

Last night's fun at Great American Music Hall was a Community Throw-down from David Nelson and some of his buds. Regrettably I missed the opportunity to catch some of the truly great songs in the first set cause I was having fun dancing! But here's the tail end of Set 1, and most of set 2:

~Enjoy!

Lots of freak flags afloat last nite!

Thank you David Nelson...

I really enjoyed Pete Grant's pedal playing last nite!

This lineup rocked "The Enlightened Masters" could be a good band name...

cue up any naked eye

im really hoping to hear kimocks solo before sitting here in limbo and kimocks solo in aiko...i really need more kimock + mookie...i dont know how much they have played together in the past, but a couple times last night mookie would throw out an idea, and kimock would latch onto it and push it into deep space. really good interplay there that imo inspired many of the shows top jams.

he really let loose in a big way on those tunes...but he is so reserved the rest of the time, often its not like he is playing "lead" at all, which as an approach to playing reminded me alot of what JK used to do in furthur...not stylistically similar, just that ensemble lead approach.

he just kinda hangs out off to the side and keeps the lowest profile of any lead guitarist ive ever seen, and then once or twice a night steps up and just melts faces in a way that only a small handful of psychedelic guitarists could ever hope to do.

i got a little spun and could not find hedspace! :( next time buddy! hope you had fun

Hoping for an Actual Soundboard to Listen to ? budboy ??

thanks treble!

I bummed myself out by not vid capping that Aiko Aiko and the I Don't Know You which were definite Hi-lights.

The Aiko went the deepest.  SK's best stuff of the night and for sure there was a definite spark between Steve and Mookie.

Sorry my vid caps don't have primo sound but the whole thing was generally addled by way too much crowd chatter.

Seriously people  -  STFU please.
