>>>>I hate festivals, I'd hit that

Oh yeah? What’s The Attractions?

Raconteurs, Patti Smith Bikini Kill, Nick Lowe and Bob Mould

If that was in my area I'd be disappointed because that would likely be the only area stop for the two or three groups I'd definitely want to see.

Poaching groups from playing smaller, better venues is one of the reasons I also do not like festivals.

BTW The Raconteurs are playing in Brooklyn in Sept, now I like them but $125 plus fees is a bit much IMO

The Raconteurs played my friends' club, Coney Island last month. This place is great. Neighborhood bar feel and prices but visited by a who's who of NYC/LES musicians that often play without much fanfare. Highly recommended.

i find that HSBGF as well as Coachella and Stagecoach often times DOES bring in decent acts that will play smaller local clubs to offset their travel all the way out west or down here....

No man, it’s Steve Naive, Bruce Thomas, Pete Thomas and not Chris Thomas. smh

>>>Highly recommended

is it on St. Marks? I need to go drinking on the LES again some day

bucky

i got it, was just pointing iut bands i like  :)

While I understand why some dislike festivals, I find festivals with an eclectic mix of artists some of my favorite shows. Also I have found that I am often exposed to artists that haven't crossed my radar before and end up becoming a fan. In my mind, that more than makes up for the drawbacks. Another thing is some artists really blossom on bigger stages and play much better shows than in smaller venues. Of course the opposite is also true. YMMV.
