New Bear's Sonic Journals: Johnny Cash Carousel Ballroom '68

that looks cool

It does sound cool.  I read that Johnny Cash really enjoyed playing for the hippies and appreciated their enthusiasm, vibe, and dancing.

The Man in Black at the Carousel in 1968? I think I'll definitely have to pick this one up.

I just got the 5 cd NRPS box and the Jorma & Jack "Before We Were Them" 6/28/69 Santa Rosa, California show from Bear's Sonic Journals traded in ten days ago.  I enjoyed exploring the NRPS set 1 disc a day last week, and will get to the Jorma & Jack set in the next day or so.   The reactions from my customers and employees to some of the Riders sets, especially the first 4 with Bob Matthews on bass, were pretty funny, ranging from "I love how spacious this sounds" to "how high were these guys"?  The sound and performance quality of the last disc from the Fillmore after Dave Torbert had replaced Matthews is by far the best of that set.  The Owsley Foundation deserves credit for getting these out with high quality packaging, notes and photos.

Look forward to checking out the Johnny Cash set.

Can't wait to hear this Johnny cash

IMO the new riders set was pretty bad overall. Agree disc five is the only one really worth putting on twice

the Janis & big brother release is still my favorite
