"New" New Years footage - 12-31-91

Forums:

Music Vault recently posted a whole bunch of "official" videos.

This one is pretty fun. Seems like yesterday. Has some closeup audience shots that make me smile.

wish the soundtrack was a little better, because the roar that night was pretty loud

The final NYE show.

I was just in front of that camera that night, right up against the front of the mixer.

A fun but strange night, many people missing Bill Graham.

No one, maybe the band most of all, had the heart to continue the NYE tradition after that.

A pity, because while the music was often not the best, in my personal experience there was never a better place to be on NYE than a Grateful Dead show.

I miss them to this day.

Only saw the 84 NYE show. Was epic IMO. Shakedown Street is my favorite version. RIP Parrish kid and wife!!

Where's the Pro footage of 84 NYE. Before and after are many years of footage. Why is 84 NYE missing??

That was my only NYE show.  I remember the"halftime" show was a tribute to Bill Graham. Showed all the times he flew into the arena on various props.  Was pretty cool.

I heard that the band never liked doing NYE shows. They only did it for Bill because he loved it so.

Noice.

My singular NYE show as well. I'm down there near the back of the board.

Without the weight of the usual pomp and circumstance, the boys came out and delivered a really well played show, capping off a wild year of music.

Also the best Knockin on Heaven's Door. Real is real can be.

Ditto, MarkD and JP.
This was my first and only run of GD shows in California.

JGB shows at Squaw Valley in '91 and Ventura and Irvine in '92 were my other CA experiences.

Minute 1:02-1:14 Is worth the price of admission

Last of many GD NYE shoes, aint no place I'd rather Be.Braught the whole Family Mom,Dad,4 Brothers and sisters, new gf It was different but always a swell time! But pro shot this is not,and a harsh cut before the end of Eyes

I went to NYE shows from 81-91 and Lance is on the $ there was no better place to be NYE. NYE 1992 I watched some goofy Howard Stern thing which sucked.
