Looking at going to New Zealand. Probably this fall during the "shoulder season". Maybe in November. Their spring starts in September, I believe. Thinking about 3 weeks or so. Maybe a week on each island and then possibly a week in Australia since we're so close. My friends tell me take as much time as you possibly can. Anyway, I picked up a Nat Geo map and an "Essential New Zealand" book from Fodor's to start looking through for ideas. Of course there's the internet too. I'm not rich so hoteling it all that time is not an option and we'll be looking into camper vans and the like.
With the wealth of knowledge available from Zoners, I was wondering if folks who have been have any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Sounds fun. Never been
Sounds fun. Never been myself, but my brother did a month long camping trip there. He got tore up bad by the infamous sand flies and is now literally scarred for life (saw him right after and will spare you the gory details).

On that note what about the availability of shrooms and/or doses there? These are the important question to be asking!
