Authorities last week found and destroyed a field of opium poppies that could have ultimately been refined into about $45,000 worth of heroin.

The patch of Papaver Somniferum grew on the 500 block of Dolan Road in Moss Landing, according to a statement by the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

If you haven't heard we burned all the poppy fields just in time for pharma (here and abroad) to pump out 1000x times more fentanyl than they ever had.  No need for plants anymore.
