SweetWater 420 Fest has shared some changes to its impending April 20 through 21 event at Pullman Yards in Atlanta. Folks behind the occasion took to social media today, Friday, April 5, to share an update on ticket prices and modifications to its artist lineup. Amongst the shifts is free admission to the forthcoming Peach State gathering, with a $10 donation to the Waterkeeper Alliance.
The official announcement started, “Heads up, party people: SweetWater’s changing up the lineup and cutting ticket prices for this year’s SweetWater 420 Fest. We’re taking a trip to our roots and will be hosting a more intimate festival that’s focused on killer jams, heady brews, and supporting long-time friends of the Waterkeeper Alliance, who are fighting to protect clean water around the world.”
The festival format will now consist of a single stage “to support a crucial environmental mission.” Moreover, addressing those who already purchased passes, “ALL purchases have been refunded. To show our gratitude for your support, we’ve also ensured that those who purchased tickets can redeem their Order Number for free tickets to this year’s festival.”
The event’s artist lineup has also been limited, cutting appearances by Beck, Black Pumas, moe., Slightly Stoopid, RIpe, lespecial and more. Remaining on the entertainment docket are Gov’t Mule, Grace Potter, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Larkin Poe, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Big Gigantic, Little Stranger, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Papdosio.
2022 represented the first major shift in the festival format, moving from Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park to its 2023 and 2024 locations, Pullman Yards, a smaller event venue. Today’s changes further amplify a regression in offerings.
