This line stuck with me after listening to the great song 'Drag Queens and Limousines' by Mary Gauthier. Got me thinking there is a real bias against people that wear blue jeans when it come to boardrooms and upper levels of government. It's like if you don't dress in a suite then you won't be accepted in the places that make so many decisions that affect us all.
I think we need more 'nuns in blue jeans' in government and on corporate boards. Many of our best and brightest are not inclined to wear suites and we need them more than ever. The 'suit class' hasn't been doing the best job running things imo. A lot of bias and stereotyping in my opinion I realize, but I think there is some truth in there somewhere.
