Happy New Year folks.

It continually amazes me how so many people don't seem to understand the depth, the importance, the heaviness of that moment the clock turns, the moment a full, unbelievably rare year of our meaningless yet so meaningful lives passes.

Oh, it's amateur night. Oh, I go to bed early. Oh, whatever, it's just another night.

Oh, it's only the moment we all pass over from the known into the unknown.

What a fucking trip THAT is.

And so many just don't get that. I suppose it's connected to the false idea that we won't ever die.

Oh, but we will.

So thank you 2024. For everything; the good, the bad, and everything in between. No matter how we experienced it, it was an incredibly rare and magnificent full year of life.

And how far out is that???

Happy New Year folks.

We made it all the way through, we lucky few.

How many didn't make it through?

How many of us won't make it through this next one?

That's what New Years Eve is all about.

The mystery continues.....

Here's something that celebrates it, on multiple levels.......

Right on Tom.  Thanks for that.

Happy New Year to you and all the kind souls that frequent this superb hangout.

Happy new year to all!

Good perspective Lance.

It's still amateur night.

Hope I die before I get old...

Happy New Year!

Wishing good health and peace to all.  With the terrible incident in New Orleans French Quarter last night, the chaos has already begun.  With the changing of the guard it could get bumpy, so buckle up, take care of yourselves, and try to look out for one another.

I was looking forward to going out and celebrating New Years this year, after sitting on the sidelines the last couple of years.  Then I slipped on a slick patch in a light rain as I was heading to the Post Office three days ago.  At the time, I picked myself up and continued on my way, nothing broken, not considering it a big deal.  The next morning, though, my back was pretty locked up, and it felt like I'd pinched a nerve at the base of my right shoulder.

I worked through it the next couple of days and nights with some stretching, ibuprofen, and remembering how to sleep on my back, as I'm normally a side-sleeper but that was too painful.

Pink Talking Phish were playing in Fremont at Nectar, but after closing the shop for 2024, I decided not to push it, and picked up a bowl of Poke, and watched the original Gladiator movie from 2000 instead.  Enjoyed the flick, slept great, and woke up with considerably less pain.  Get to take it easy today, so hopefully I'm on the path to feeling semi-normal.   Stay limber, friends.

Here's to a quick recovery Dave.   I had to miss my NYE party also.  Had to stay home with my ailing pup.

Happy 2025!  Lots of music this past week.

Local JGB/GD band Rhapsody in Red on Boxing Day.

Karl Denson on Saturday at Revolution Hall on Saturday.  Nigel Hall from Lettuce sat in for the second half and did a funky full set of Stevie Wonder covers.

Went back to Rev Hall on Monday for Leftover Salmon.  Fun rollicking show.  Jason Carter's band opened.  Very impressed by this phenomenal bluegrass player and he and his wife, who is Molly Tuttle's fiddle player, sat in with LOS for much of their set which went way past midnight.

Went out to McMinnville last night and saw our friend's Allman Brothers tribute band, One Way Out, at the historic Hotel Oregon.  Got a room and stayed the night.  Got back into town this afternoon and now watching the Phish show and taking down the Christmas tree.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
