Oakland Aud 1982 + "New" Mickey & Brent Interview

Forums:

This was some interest in these small videos (Getty Image News Reels) I have of the party in and around the Oakland Auditorium Arena, 12/28/1982.

Included is an interview with Mickey Hart and he's smoking a fat joint; and one with Brent Mydland (tripping).

So I made a small 10 minute DVD and also uploaded them to YouTube channel I had to publish.

I know many of you were at the Grateful Dead shows in Oakland in 1982, so look for yourself.

Enjoy while you can. Not sure how long they will be up. But then again, the way I tagged them, they might be there for an eternity.

sweet x 2! thanks for all that effort.  (smiling)

That is some great stuff, thank you for sharing! Mostly funny, but Brent's New Year's resolution? Oh man... :(

Thank you for sharing, the hallway scene is perfect bliss :)

awesome, thanks for posting... I was there, but "didn't see myself" in any of that footage, lol smiley

I liked Mickey at the beginning of that vid, calling out to Dan Healy (off-camera) as the "Mayor of Garberville"... that was back when Healy bankrolled the local community radio station (KERG -- "the Urge") and the station used to play fresh soundboard tapes during the GD-themed program called "Dead Air" every week... those were the days, indeed

I still live near Garberville, in southern Humboldt County, but KERG was a short-lived station and was off the air by the mid to late 1980s

None of these vids people are posting links to for youtube are working. Bummer. Keeps telling me something about my shit does not support or could not find any support for the vids.

It says click here for help but I get nothing.

I often feel lost due to my lack of technology ignorance!

Owsley was at the bottom of the stairwell, talking to the fans. He said to me "You will be just fine if you keep on dancing".

I have one more short video of the Oakland Auditorium Floor 12/28/82 as the families are situating them selves on the Tapestries in front of the stage; and the volleyball nets are still up.

The audio was missing. So I am going to overdub the "Tell Mama" and throw that up on YouTube someday soon.

So far, interest in the Brent interview is winning with 131 views.

LMFAO.

I posted the last of these short videos from the Oakland Auditorium NYE shows.

This one is from New Years Eve, 12/31/1982. The first shot is the front of the Aud, the rest is from the inside with Volley Ball action.

This video had no audio, so I overdubbed Bill Graham's introduction of the opening band that night the Dinosaurs and the first song "Who Makes the Rules"
