Official Phish Late Summer/Fall Dates

Forums:

They mixed it up a bit, but its on:

https://phish.com/tours/

Starting down south.  Gorge pushed back until late August and Eugene in October.

Vegas Halloween

I just sent request for AZ > Chula Vista > LA Forum > SB Bowl.  A nice little tour....

As much as I'd like to, not sure I'm ready to bank on having turned the corner on pandemic let alone feeling comfortable in a jam-packed venue ... especially inside.

The AZ -> SB run looks cool though ... tempted to do it minus the forum, but realistically I'm going to play it by ear and maybe just wind  up at the Gorge ... apparently it seems to be the easiest larger outdoor venue re: tickets.

Beware of the Wookan Flu.   If I go it will be the back of the lawn.

Also bummed about Piedmont being canceled.   I was going to walk to that one for a change.

i would have gone outside for phish in piedmont park.

alpharetta... not so much

Santa Barbara Bowl is a possibility for me. I'm not a huge Phish fan, but that venue is one of my favorites.

Chase Center, blech. Too close to pass up though.

Despite all the (mostly unwarranted) hatred of the BG Civic, I'll dare anyone to say that the massive & generic Chase Center is better.

The only good thing about Phish playing there is that just about everyone who wants to go will be able to get a ticket.

Barring unforeseen issues, I'll be in Tahoe, Sac & SF for sure, maybe for LA & SB.

No Vegas for me.

Phish may not be the band they were in their heyday, but they're still worth some time, trouble & expense.

 Chase does not move me

And as sacrilegious as it might be, neither does fish

I kind a like salmon and tuna though

I put in for Santa Barbara. It's a weeknight, which isn't ideal with my schedule for the fall, but I want to shake my bones and the SB Bowl is a great place to do that.

AC is perfect for Phish. You're not the sketchiest person there. It's just the right amount of dirty and I have no need to go there other than for Phish.

Got Saturday Chase

Milpas?

Trey solo SOLD OUT at SPAC 3 nights. Doesn't that place hold over 30,000!?

Don't get it

>Phish may not be the band they were in their heyday, but they're still worth some time, trouble & expense<

I once agreed with that statement. These days I wouldn't travel more than a couple hours for a show. Last show I saw, 6.28.19, was the first time I was disappointed with a phish show... great big meh.

Looks like these are restricted shows, not full capacity. I think they also did the ole' Pre-Sale shenanigans to create false supply, so more tickets should be available in the coming months.

-------

According to the ticketing page, “capacity will adhere to state guidance. Currently, all seating will be sold in ‘pods’ and each group of seats must be purchased together.” In addition, guests will need to prove a recent negative test or vaccination status to attend (proof of vaccination, proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the event, or proof of a negative antigen taken within six hours of the event). Guests will also be required to complete a health survey and temperature check before entering the shows, and mask requirements will be in place throughout the performances.

In order to help achieve the testing/vaccination screening goals for the show, SPAC and promoter Live Nation are encouraging the use of the New York State Excelsior Pass, the app developed by the state in partnership with IBM that aims to “use proven, secure technology to confirm an individual’s vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test through a confidential data transfer to help fast-track the reopening of theaters, stadiums, and other businesses in accordance with New York State guidelines.”

AC is perfect for Phish>>>

Was in June 2012 @ Bader Field, not on the beach.

Just thinking about standing & boogying for around 3 hours in the sand make my calves cramp up. And itch like heck.

Per Google:  In general, sand fly bites are very painful. Most flies that bite humans feed during the evening and throughout the night.  Best defense:

Deet: If you're looking for the most powerful bug repellant available, go with a DEET-based spray. While it's potent and far from natural, DEET is considered an effective bug repellant for sand flies

SB bowl is 4500 capacity.

^^Bader Field and Boardwalk Hall were both great times, but that beach venue looks hellish to me.

Tahoe and Chase for me.

>SB bowl is 4500 capacity.<

Exactly. Furthur barely pulled that off in Fall 2012.

...at any rate, no spot taken. I would not travel very far at all or pay much of anything to see Phish again. Have Phun!!

I got both nights in SF.

I went for Chula Vista . Its somewhat local and outdoors and I'm double vaxed .

>>>These days I wouldn't travel more than a couple hours for a show<<<

In general that's about my limit for Phish nowadays as well, which is why for the October west coast shows I'll only be seeing the Sacramento & SF shows.

I'm making an exception for Tahoe, because that's just such a cool scene & fun overall experience. For the past few years the venues they play have a big influence on how motivated I am to make the effort, and we've been lucky here in the Bay Area that they like playing the smaller old rock hall BG Civic and the not-too-far Lake Tahoe. But now with all the sheds and huge arenas I'm not overly enthused to go crazy.

I'm intrigued with the Santa Barbara show, just because I've heard so many great things about that venue and I've never been to Santa Barbara. Hitting the LA Forum show and then a great drive up the coast for a one-off in a small, out-of-the-way nice little venue sounds like a fun road trip, but after having seen the three local shows the week before, that trip will likely not happen. And no Vegas for me, so much expense and now that they play in yet another huge generic arena there makes that a no-go. I enjoyed Thomas & Mack, but that MGM place looks massive.

And I've been bored at quite a few of my more recent Phish shows, but they still do that thing where I'm certain that I'm done with them and then they reach out and pull me back in with a ripping, roaring set or show.

My biggest issue tends to be that they get lost in their now massive catalog of newer boring songs, where in their younger days most of their songs might be quirky or weird but most were interesting and had great jams, where now not so much with the quirky, weird or interesting, just not very good with not so many good jams.

But it's all relative, and they're still capable of tearing it up, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they shake out their post-pandemic groove.

would love to hit any of hershey

the beauty is we will get to experience it via couch tour if notlaugh

I've never been a couch tour fan, but after this pandemic shutdown year, if I never see another live concert on my computer or TV that will be JUST FINE with me.

And now the LA Forum show is out for me, as the 49ers will be playing the Colts in Santa Clara that day, and I've already paid far too much for my very good seat to miss a good game like that.

Who knows? If Phish blows me away in Tahoe I may set myself up for a Santa Barbara > Las Vegas road trip after all.

I didn't get to do anything fun my first year of retirement, maybe a SoCal/Vegas soiree would be a good way to make it clear to myself that I'm old and shouldn't take road trips ever again.

I rolled over my 2020 tickets to Chase. Looked into one for Sac... over $100 with fees then add shipping.

My biggest issue tends to be that they get lost in their now massive catalog of newer boring songs, where in their younger days most of their songs might be quirky or weird but most were interesting and had great jams, where now not so much with the quirky, weird or interesting, just not very good with not so many good jams<<<

This was also my "issue" with seeing them last at Dicks in 2019, but it's still not a "deal breaker" for me.  I think they do find some cool spaces with some of their newer material, but not nearly enough to justify the heavy rotations from my perspective.  I think some of the weaker newer songs tend to thwart the overall flow of a set or show more often than not.  I totally get it that if it's what keeps them interested.  I've found it to be similar with SCI in recent years as well.

Santa Barbara Bowl has been a favorite of mine and always made the effort to hit it on various runs.   However, being a smaller in demand venue, not sure I'd want to be packed into it if covid is still an issue.

got super lucky and got a tick through a friend for 7/28, AMP, small outdoor venue. First phish show for me and first live show in far too long. very much looking forward to it.

Yep, I bought AR tix about a month ago when I learned It'd be the first show back. Just booked my travel and hotel has been booked for a while. Looking forward to the Dinner and Movie opener.

May Do Santa Barbara - I am Guaranteed A Nice Place To Sit !

In for both shows at Chase.  Hoping it's the only place shaking on 10-17.

So far, these Phish shows at the Gorge at the end of August, and an August 5th Wilco/Sleater-Kinney tour opener in Spokane are the only larger shows I've heard announced in Washington, with nothing in Seattle yet.  Phish at the Gorge is usually an easy ticket.  Wonder if the shortage of shows will change that?

Just saw an August 14th date for Primus at Marymoor Park in Redmond, which is just over the bridge from here.  The Key Arena reopens for the new hockey team this Fall, so maybe they will start using it for shows soon.  I've heard that the Seattle Theater Group is expecting to start operating their venues (the Paramount, Moore, and Neptune theaters) in July.
