Ever since the state legalized medical marijuana three years ago, Oklahoma has become one of the easiest places in the United States to launch a weed business. The state now boasts more retail cannabis stores than Colorado, Oregon and Washington combined. In October, it eclipsed California as the state with the largest number of licensed cannabis farms, which now number more than 9,000, despite a population only a tenth of California’s.

Damn fine weed coming from Ok.

tulsa_chris knew where to be :)

so, the surrounding states drive there or they have enough stoners? seems unlikely.

Nothing like getting stoned and chasing Tornadoes in Okie. Best next thing to getting stoned and go noodling.

Tulsuck OG. Hints of sink pee.

a $2500 license fee is why there are over 9,000 grows in OK right now, which is more licensed grows than all of  WA, OR and CA combined.  It's the "5 year" plan here

A lot of dabblers who are doing a small grow on the side and keeping their day job, too.

I feel very fortunate to be part of it,  but this is no Emerald Triangle.

>>Tulsuck OG.

Haven't seen that one yet, but I did see the "Cheech's Taint" strain the other day.

>>>so, the surrounding states drive there or they have enough stoners?

Turtle, check out the NYT article.   I read it this morning and they say that prices are basically a quarter of what they are in other states.  As such there is a lot of shipping across the borders which is a problem (as the government sees it).   Joe is spot on that cheap fees is what is bringing everyone there.

Good for Oklahoma.  I hope they do alright from it and encourage the south to follow.

Also, I'm going to pass on Cheech's Taint.

...prices are really a quarter of what they are in other states?
When I arrived to Portland I saw an ad in our weekly paper for $50 OZs of indoor!

Merle Haggard

We don't smoke marijuana in Muskogee
We don't take our trips on LSD
We don't burn our draft cards down on Main Street
We like livin' right, and bein' free

We don't make a party out of lovin'
We like holdin' hands and pitchin' woo
We don't let our hair grow long and shaggy
Like the hippies out in San Francisco do

I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskogee,

Well I'm proud to be a hippie from Olema
Where we're friendly to the squares and all the straights
We still take in strangers if they're ragged
We can't think of anyone to hate

We don't watch commercials in Olema
We don't buy the plastic crap they sell
We still wear our hair long like folks used to
And we bathe often, therefore we don't smell

And I'm proud to be a hippie from Olema
Where we're friendly to the squares and all the straights
We still take in strangers if they're ragged
We can't think of anyone to hate

We don't throw our beer cans on the highway
We don't slight a man because he's black
We don't spill our oil out in the ocean
'Cause we love birds and fish too much for that

And I'm proud to be a hippie from Olema
Where we're friendly to the squares and all the straights
We still take in strangers if they're Haggard
In Olema, California, planet Earth

>>>prices are really a quarter of what they are in other states?

They said approximately one-quarter but their reference may be NY or what they can find online at a few dispensaries in major cities.   They quoted $3 a gram for OG Kush and Maui Waui.   That's more than the $50 you note but for what strain?   I know some in Oregon have also mentioned lbs going for dirt.   All in all, there is going to be a lot of weed in this country...

> there is going to be a lot of weed in this country

There already is. Lots of folks are growing their own now too.

Saw an interview with Merle Haggard where he said that Muskogee was the only place that they did not smoke marijuana.
