Oktoberfest 2018

At the moment there are a lot of those chemtrails on the live Bavarian stream.

Have another Maß and forget about those chemtrails!

I will be at the volksfest in Stuttgart in about a week!

its the 200 year anniversary same as Oktoberfest minus the tourist hoards.

Cool. I would love to attend the Cannstatter Volksfest. Almost made it there in 2016 but for last minute changes in plans.

Also, someday I'd like to go to this one...

Gäubodenvolksfest takes place in Straubing each August...

Roarshock, I travel to Germany all the time, (mostly würtemburg) never heard of that celebration in Bayern.  But as you know there is a fest every week of the year somewhere.  Prost!

Phil-led Chicken Dance?

I live on the wrong coast.

That's totally Awesome when Chevy Chase's "Son"  hits it off with the Buxom German Lass in "European Vacation".

Oktöberfest should be so kind to all the Hollywood kids.

It's gibberish for now; but by tomorrow someone will break out the Viva-Rosetta Stone and translate this puppy to some type of raw seafood we can eat

OK,  it's not an actual moni-moni movie.  But  Clark Griswold,  (portrayed by Chevy Chase)  brings his Wife & 2 kids to Europe in "European Vacation" and one segment is at Oktöberfest ...

The male child meets a busty German chick,  and the daughter misses her boyfriend when confronted with Bratwurst.

So that's most of the plot right there.

Oh. I didn't that one. The first one is hysterical.

Also,  when they are in UK / England,  the Griswold clan watches the BBC on three different channels and they are all mini-movies regarding Cheese and/or The Queen.

I think that is the Nat-Lamp folks acknowledging their Monty Python influence.  Cheese,  Cheese,  Queen,  Cheese.

But I have not seen that film in Decades,  so it might all be Cheese,  no Queen.

I find that very funny, thanks Stu.

Yes,  I found it to be quite humorous at the time.  I have watched the vast majority of the Monty Python BBC shows,  and the SCTV series from Canada.

Here is what you probably already know:  the fellows in the Beatles,  Pink Floyd and other British rock groups found the usual BBC television programmes so boring that they helped Fund the Monty Python group,  in order to have something to watch on 'The Telly'.

No doubt that has been documented elsewhere,  but perhaps some younger Zoners are unaware.

Besides "Monty Python's Flying Circus"  my other favorite Brit TV series are "The Avengers"  and "The Prisoner".

CHAIRMAN OF THE WORLD

If I were Chairman of the World
Mice would not vex Disco Stu.
Cats would patrol all Midgard,
And Disco Stu’s farmhouse too.
From warrior cat to kitty pet,
No solace for the mice that roared.
Be they fierce as Reepicheep
Be they twerp, or low pipsqueak.
Even Frederick, the Poet-Mouse
(From the tip of his nose to the end of his tail).
Ha! Ha! Stuart Little!
Cut away all paper bags!
The film is nothing like the book.
You are not Chairman of the World,
And neither am I, alas, alack, a-lark!
(Leave birds out of this!)…
Dapper, tweed dressed mice, driving roadsters,
Or fighting battles with flashing swords,
Of no concern to cats in universes next door.
Space-time for Springers, Schrödinger,
Are you alive, or are you dead?
I like you cat, I will call you Kim.
Now go and catch those mice!
Replied the cat,
“I will call you LUSH! I will call you SOT!
No is kitten, is CAT! Name is Kim!”
…And along with orange Dudley,
And tabby cats Max and Moe,
Mama Kitty too (cat goddess rest her soul),
And Queen Silvera, regal and aloof
In the Forest of Kim!
All send greetings, Disco Stu,
So do not be downhearted!
Your mice shall soon be thwarted, swatted down!
Your home again a sea of tranquility
When those mice are gone!
Yours, in jest,
The Chairman of the World.

It was a spectacular afternoon in the backyard

I got to hang with Ro,

Phil sang a beautiful Birdsong,

and then led the chicken dance

cool day

Sounds like a lovely day by the canal.
