In 1977 they launched a little hunk of metal and wire out of our solar system way into outer space and 43 years later it is over 11 billion miles from Earth (125 times the distance between Earth and the Sun). And, we are still able to send commands and get back information it is collecting.

205 million miles from Earth, meaning it took 18.5 minutes for each command to reach OSIRIS-REx, and another 18.5 minutes for each update from the probe to come back down to Earth.
Aliens would see that and think -- ok these apes are making progress. Hopefully when they intercept our broadcasts they won't watch TV news and listen to talk radio. Then they might blow us up.
