Oysterhead Peach 2021

Forums:

I really never got Trey. Always loved Claypool. Copeland for sure as he can play them cymbals and drums like no other, but this band get's me excited to go see live music again. It's infectious and makes me move my bones.

Wow, not a fan at all. Always amazed me that you could take three incredibly talented musicians and come up with far less than the sum of any one part let alone the three!

Well you like the Family band so we all know what taste you have! LOLlaugh

To each his own I guess! Welcome to the 21st century.

Woz-"That's not freedom rock!"

Hey, look at that! Woz being critical of something!

Good for you Woz. It shows you're not one of those derps who likes EVERYTHING, and we already know you're not one of those uber-derps who make absolute conclusions based on very limited actual experience.

I saw this group once and didn't get into it. I'm a big fan of all three players, but together it felt like three individuals who hadn't rehearsed much, trying to make a group sound but nothing meshed. I scrolled through this video the other night and mostly came away with the same impression.

But that was just watching a video, and I've only seen them live the one time, so I'd definitely give them another shot.

They're all pretty extreme in their particular styles, Les in particular, but I'd imagine if they really made it a full-time band it would come together more. Or maybe I just need to see them again.

BTW Woz, the free tix for X at Stern Grove on the 25th are available on the SG website at 2:00pm tomorrow. With limited access I'm assuming it will "sell out" fast. Talk about a band that meshes!

COFFEE AND A PIECE OF PIE!!!!!!!

Hope to see you there!

I saw them too, back in 2003 or whenever they first got together and was surprised how much I thought they didn't mesh at all.

I had that X show on my radar but will be out of town that week on my annual trip to Santa Cruz with my son. What a great place to see those guys, have fun!

COFFEE AND A PIECE OF PIE!!!!!!! Indeed!

I'm curious as to whether anyone who was underwhelmed by their first incarnation (ding!) likes 'em any better this time around.

I've run across a few yootoobses links of OH2.0, but I didn't even hover over the mouse before arriving at, "Yeah; no."

I prefer Les and Lennon

Right?

I saw the claypool lennon band spring of 19 ish. I enjoyed the set overall, but like a lot of bands they had a few clunkers.  I would go check oysterhead if they reschedule. They were supposed to be here spring of 20.

Les and Copeland mesh really well but Trey doesn't add much, if anything.

Claypool Lennon Delirium on the other hand, fantastic.

So I went to Peach,  attended this particular Show,  and listened back a few times...

Some of the Best Music I've heard in a while (the Crowd was pretty Stoked).

I'm seeing people posting here that did not attend, did not listen (no thanks! it's Icky!) But have strong opinions.
My guess is those opinions count for Fuck All. I mean you have your opinion, but you didn't go, or listen, but you know best.  Virgin Sex.

Turkuaz w/ Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew were pretty darn Good too.  Actually the Bands were all pretty Darn Good. Even String Cheese.
