I've had a lot of similar
I've had a lot of similar problems with USPS' Ground service in the last couple of years. I had one package sent from Virginia recently that made it to Chicago, and then headed back to Virginia by way of Florida. All in all, it took a t-shirt I ordered about 3 weeks to get from VA to CA.

It seems to have slowed down
It seems to have slowed down quite a bit as far as envelopes, but all my weed seeds from the US and the visionaries from yonder make it here just fine. Go figure.
