Paging Judit

Forums:

Hi Judit,

On 8/28/11 you posted this on PZ:

"A good friend was there accompanying a very special Tibetan Lama. Jerry sent someone out to get them, saying he wanted to play Rinpoche, a song. They went backstage, I think to a bus in the woods, and Jerry played a sweet song for him. It was a beautiful time."

I'm writing The Encyclopedia Of Jerry Garcia Music Venues. The book is now being edited and I would like to add the Lama's name to the story. Was it Zong Rinpoche? Could you ask your friend? My email is [email protected]

Thanks

Harry

Happy New Year!

Hi. It was Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche.

The early years of his teaching in the Americas was spent in Eugene, and Cottage Grove, Oregon. He was known and respected in the West for his teachings, his melodic chanting voice, his artistry as a sculptor and painter, and his skill as a physician. He acted as a spiritual guide for thousands of students worldwide.

Thanks Judit!

I enjoyed being around him. He was lively with a serene knowing presence, humble at the same time.
