Erik Alexander is the son of Sonny Alexander, President of the NY Hell's Angels. Erik got badly injured doing movie stunt work, this was a benefit. Actually got my tix through a friend whose ex was an Angel. Went to pre-show party next door at Gleasons gym, with Angels from all over. Ended up sitting in the Loge, surrounded by Angels having a rip roaring great time.
Academy of music took over from the Filmore east when in went dark as the place for shows in n.y.c. So many great nights in that bulding, downstairs bathroom was something else!
I was at the Little Eric show too and scored one of those shirts. Marshall Tucker played earlier in the night at the Palladium and they where hanging out at the party next store at the gym , that was a one crazy night!!!!
Saw many shows there. ABB Reunion tour after the Central Park surprise and the show was great
saw that Garcia and Friends 6/25/82 and it was a fucking waste of time. Thankfully I went to The Marshall Tucker Band in same venue on the same night and they were awesome ! Garcia played like 4 or 5 acoustic songs said see ya later so we stayed like idiots. It was light out when we exited the venue .
Saw U 2 there as well before anyone really knew who they were .
