I'm not sure about POTUS
I'm not sure about POTUS pardoning ability, so I looked it up online. Here is what one person wrote:
The U.S. constitution provides pardoning power to the President for all federal crimes. The pardons issued by the President cannot be limited or controlled in any way by legislative action. In most of the states, the governor has the same pardoning power regarding state crimes. However, the governor can not grant pardon to persons convicted of treason or criminal contempt of court. The U.S. constitution limits the pardoning power of the executive. Under the limits of the constitution, the power to pardon extends to every offense committed against the government. However, pardon is not provided to offenses committed against the state. An executive does not have the power to pardon a private wrong. Even if a criminal act is pardoned, the civil liability of the wrongdoer cannot be written off. I'm not a lawyer, but if what I copied & pasted is correct, Sr can pardon Jr. At least I think he can. Whether he can or can't, I don't see Jr being charged with treason.
This whole Trump & Co saga is crazy stuff. Who knows what's coming next. Latest gossip. Trump Sr is now upset with his lawyer, who may resign. The lawyer is upset with Jared Kushner, who he thinks is whispering in the president’s ear about the Russia investigations, while keeping the lawyers out of the loop. They view Mr. Kushner as an obstacle and freelancer more concerned about protecting himself than his father-in-law.
Perhaps The Don will stay in Paris, if they let him. Stay tuned 4 plenty more. same bat time same bat station.

There Is Now Evidence that Senior Trump Officials Attempted to Collude With Russia
by David FrenchJuly 11, 2017 2:24 PM
@DavidAFrench
Donald Trump Jr.’s e-mails are damning.
Just hours ago, Donald Trump Jr. released one of the more astounding e-mail chains of the entire Russia controversy. The end result is that Americans may now be introduced to the term “attempted collusion.” Or, perhaps more accurately (based on present information), “failed collusion.”
In other words, there now exists evidence that senior members of the Trump campaign tried unsuccessfully to facilitate Russian government efforts to defeat Hillary Clinton.
Going further, at long last we can now put to bed the notion that the Russia investigation is little more than frivolous partisan harassment, and it casts in an entirely different light the president’s fury and frustration at its continued progress.
As of now, we should have zero confidence that we know all or even most material facts. We should have zero confidence that Trump’s frustration is entirely due to his feeling like an innocent man caught in the crosshairs of crazed conspiracy theorists. It now appears that his son, son-in-law, and campaign chair met with a lawyer who they were told was part of an official Russian government effort to impact the presidential election. The Russian investigation isn’t a witch hunt anymore, if it ever was. It’s a national necessity

>>>Wasting time on the Russian narrative will prove to be utterly useless
First off, it's not useless because anything that keeps Trump from doing more damage than he already is is not useless. I don't agree that he's done nothing (Supreme Court, Sessions, ICE, whatever they may do to national monuments, weakening rules on polluters, dumping coal waste in streams). But he is only able to do stuff that is easy because he can't walk and chew gum at the same time and the Russia investigation is gum.
Two, the fact that you leave out that the whole reason the emails are important is that Don Jr and Kushner were meeting with someone held out to be a Rgovt official providing high level documents as part of governmental support undercuts your opinion as being some kind of breitbart/infowars blahblahblah.
I'm pretty cynical about most of the Russia stuff because I know damn well that Trumps do TONS of business with Russia so of course they have contacts there. I just figured he owes someone some money, that he's occasionally dropping intel to Russia without realizing it, etc. But the Kushner lies on his clearance combined with the content of this emails means that this is something they must investigate out of due diligence even if you are the most hard core GOP. Even if it comes to nothing they can't not investigate this.
Trump is totally going to throw Jr under the bus. Sad!

>>>>>don't think there is
>>>>>don't think there is anything illegal about any of this. No one ever thought to write a law about this.
The applicable law was cited above, but here it is again in case anyone missed it.
52 USC 30121 states in relevant part:
"(a) It shall be unlawful for—
(1) a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make—(A) a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State, or local election; (B) a contribution or donation to a committee of a political party; or (C) an expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication (within the meaning of section 30104(f)(3) of this title); or
(2) a person to solicit, accept, or receive a contribution or donation described in subparagraph (A) or (B) of paragraph (1) from a foreign national." (emphasis added).
In this case, the question is whether dirt on an opposing candidate is "other thing of value." If it is, then Don Jr. just handed Mueller grounds for an indictment.
Ironically, the last time this law was big news was back in 1996 and it involved alleged Chinese contributions to the Clinton campaign:

Clinton Campaign Colluded with Ukraine to Sink Trump
However, as an article published in Politico on Wednesday reveals, it was the Clinton campaign that was colluding with an Eastern European country to sink Trump’s efforts. Figures at high levels in the Democratic Party, it turns out, colluded with Ukraine.
Ukrainian government agents not only “tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office” and disseminated “documents implicating a top Trump aid in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter” — they also “helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers,” wrote Politico reporters Kenneth P. Vogel and David Stern.
According to the report, Ukrainian-American political operative Alexandra Chalupa, who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee, met with Ukrainian officials in order to coordinate efforts to tar former Trump campaign Chairman Paul Manafort, and Trump himself, by exposing their alleged ties to Russia.
A “former DNC staffer and the operative familiar with the situation agreed that with the DNC’s encouragement, Chalupa asked embassy staff to try to arrange an interview in which Poroshenko might discuss Manafort’s ties to Yanukovych,” Vogel and Stern reported.

Dead2, I guess you don't
Dead2, I guess you don't agree with that wacky, left wing liberal, the National Review's David French?
I'll post it again...
It’s a national necessity.

Uncovering the Russia ties of
Uncovering the Russia ties of Hillary’s campaign chief
On Jan. 18, 2011, a small green-energy company named Joule Unlimited announced Podesta’s appointment to its board. Months later, Rusnano, a Kremlin-backed investment fund founded by Vladimir Putin, pumped $35 million into Joule. Serving alongside Podesta on Joule’s board were senior Russian official Anatoly Chubais and oligarch Ruben Vardanyan, who has been appointed by Putin to a Russian economic modernization council.
Bartiromo asked Podesta why he failed to disclose his role in Joule as required by law when he entered the White House in January 2014 to serve as counselor to President Barack Obama.
“Maria, that’s not true. I fully disclosed and was completely compliant,” Podesta shot back.
But according to his own financial disclosure form, Podesta only listed two of the three entities that made up Joule Unlimited, failing to disclose his presence on the board of the Dutch-registered Stichting Joule Global Foundation.
There’s also this inconvenient fact: In 2016, Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank, where Joule board member Reuben Vardanyan formerly served as head of its investment banking division, had a $170,000 lobbying contract with the Podesta Group — which is owned by John Podesta’s brother, Tony Podesta.
In short, Clinton’s top campaign chief and a senior counselor to Obama sat on Joule’s board alongside top Russian officials as Putin’s Kremlin-backed investment fund funneled $35 million into Joule. No one looking at the Podesta fact pattern can claim to care about rooting out Russian collusion and not rigorously investigate the tangle of relationships.

THE CLINTON FAMILY BUSINESS
THE CLINTON FAMILY BUSINESS There may be no Clinton Foundation office in Moscow or St. Petersburg, but it is not for lack of trying. Bill Clinton received half a million dollars in 2010 for a speech he gave in Moscow, paid by a Russian firm, Renaissance Capital, that has ties to Russian intelligence. The Clinton Foundation took money from Russian officials and oligarchs, including Victor Kekselberg, a Putin confidant. The Foundation also received millions of dollars from Uranium One, which was sold to the Russian government in 2010, giving Russia control of 20% of the uranium deposits in the U.S. — the sale required approval from Hillary Clinton's State Department. What's more, at least some of these donations weren't disclosed. "Ian Telfer, the head of the Russian government's uranium company, Uranium One, made four foreign donations totaling $2.35 million to the Clinton Foundation. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all such donors," the Times has reported.
JOHN PODESTA In March — that is, long after the election was over — it was revealed that Mrs. Clinton's campaign chairman had failed to disclose the receipt of 75,000 shares of stock from a Kremlin-financed company — Joule Unlimited — for which he served as director from 2010 to 2014, when he joined the Obama White House in 2014. Podesta apparently had a large chunk of the shares transferred to "Leonidio Holdings, a brand-new entity he incorporated only on Dec. 20, 2013, about 10 days before he entered the White House," according to a news account.
TONY PODESTA Mr. Podesta's brother, who has close personal and business relations with Mrs. Clinton, was "key lobbyist on behalf of Sberbank, according to Senate lobbying disclosure forms. His firm received more than $24 million in fees in 2016, much of it coming from foreign governments, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics," a March news story reported. The bank was "seeking to end one of the Obama administration's economic sanctions against that country." The report goes on to note that "Podesta's efforts were a key part of under-the-radar lobbying during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign led mainly by veteran Democratic strategists to remove sanctions against Sberbank and VTB Capital, Russia's second largest bank." Mr. Obama imposed the sanctions following the Russian seizure of the Crimean region of Ukraine in 2014.
JOHN BREAUX Forbes magazine reports that Mr. Breaux, a former Senator from Louisiana who cut radio ads for Mrs. Clinton's 2008 campaign, represents Gazprombank GPB, a subsidiary of Russia's third largest bank, on "banking laws and regulations, including applicable sanctions."
THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN In March, Mr. Putin's spokesman said that Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak met with members of Mrs. Clinton's campaign several times while she was running for president in 2016. Further, the campaign never disclosed the number or nature of these secret meetings.
Mrs. Clinton and her associates can cry themselves hoarse that there is neither smoke nor fire here, and that Putin was behind her election loss. But all in all, the known facts suggest an unusually extensive network of relationships with a major foreign power. Anyone who cares about the credibility of the American electoral process should want a thorough investigation.

Hell, Oakster, given Trump's dreadful performance, both home and abroad, can you blame Dead2 for trying to change the subject?
Just a reminder of how the world views Trump...
Speaking on Sunday from the G20conference in Hamburg, Uhlmann said Trump had shown “no desire and no capacity to lead the world” and was himself “the biggest threat to the values of the west”.
“He was an uneasy, lonely, awkward figure at this gathering and you got the strong sense that some of the leaders are trying to find the best way to work around him,” Uhlmann said.
“Where was the G20 statement condemning North Korea which would have put pressure on China and Russia? Other leaders expected it, they were prepared to back it, but it never came.”
Uhlmann said Trump was obsessed with “burnishing his celebrity” and had “diminished” his own nation to the benefit of Russia and China.
“We learned that Donald Trump has pressed fast-forward on the decline of the United States as a global leader. He managed to isolate his nation, to confuse and alienate his allies and to diminish America.
“[He is] a man who barks out bile in 140 characters, who wastes his precious days as president at war with the west’s institutions like the judiciary, independent government agencies and the free press.”

The FBI’s Own Investigation Summary Proves Hillary Clinton Broke The Law
Reminder: Hillary is above the law.
http://thefederalist.com/2016/10/17/the-fbis-own-investigation-summary-p...
When caught, Hillary alleged that she “never sent any classified material nor received any marked classified.” This turned out to be a lie. Hillary claimed before becoming secretary she had merely wanted only one device “for convenience.” This turned out to be lie. The FBI found that Clinton “used numerous mobile devices,” not to mention servers. Clinton — the most competent person to ever run for president, according to Barack Obama — claimed she didn’t understand how classified markings work. This was also a lie.
According to the FBI, Hillary sent 110 emails containing clearly marked classified information. Thirty-six of these emails contained secret information. Eight of those email chains contained “top secret” information.

Chelsea Clinton used her family foundation’s cash to pay for her wedding, living expenses and taxes on gifts of cash from her parents, according to a bombshell email made public Sunday.
Doug Band, formerly a top aide to President Bill Clinton, griped about the former first daughter’s spending in a Jan. 4, 2012, email released by WikiLeaks.
“The investigation into her getting paid for campaigning, using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade, taxes on money from her parents…,” Band wrote to John Podesta, now Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman.
“I hope that you will speak to her and end this. Once we go down this road…”

Rap Sheet: The Women Who Are Victims of Bill and Hillary Clinton
Creepy Bill Clinton is a sexual predator and most likely a rapist.
Kathleen Willey … made a splash in 1998 by claiming in a ’60 Minutes’ interview that Bill Clinton had sexually assaulted her during a Oval Office meeting in 1993.
Juanita Broaddrick– Rape
Gubernatorial campaign volunteer who said Mr. Clinton raped her during a nursing-home-operators convention in Little Rock in April 1978.
—
Eileen Wellstone– Sexual Assault
English woman who said Mr. Clinton sexually assaulted her after she met him at a pub near Oxford University where Mr. Clinton was a student in 1969.
Sandra Allen James– Sexual Assault
Former Washington, D.C., political fund-raiser who said Mr. Clinton invited her to his hotel room during a 1991 campaign trip, pinned her against the wall and put his hand under her dress.
Christy Zercher– Sexual Assault
Airline flight attendant on Mr. Clinton’s 1992 campaign plane, who said Mr. Clinton exposed himself and grabbed her breasts.
22 Year-Old Yale Student – Sexual Assault
In 1972, a 22-year-old woman told campus police at Yale University that she was sexually assaulted by Clinton, a law student at the college.
University of Arkansas Student – Sexual Assault
In 1974, a female student at the University of Arkansas complained that then-law school instructor Bill Clinton tried to prevent her from leaving his office during a conference. She said he groped her and forced his hand inside her blouse. She complained to her faculty advisor who confronted Clinton, but Clinton claimed the student ”came on” to him.
Paula Jones – Sexual Harrassment,. Character Assassination
She had asked to meet him because it would be ‘exciting’ to meet the governor, and she hoped it might lead to promotion. Instead, she said in court, she found herself telling him she was ‘not that kind of girl’. It was a brief encounter and she alleged that Mr. Clinton took her hand, pulled her towards him, then said: ‘I love your curves.’
She tried to walk away, she said in a deposition, but ‘Mr. Clinton then walked over to the sofa, lowered his trousers and underwear, exposed his penis (which was erect) and told me to “kiss it.”‘ …
Jones delivers her own verdict on Hillary’s bid to become president, saying that her husband’s attitude towards women disqualifies Bill from re-entering the White House – while what she calls Hillary’s ‘lies’ disqualify her from the Oval Office.
‘There is no way that [Hillary] did not know what was going on, that women were being abused and accosted by her husband,’ she says. ‘They have both lied.’
Clinton settled this case for $850,000.
Monica Lewinsky – Character Assassination
After lying to the American people to keep the Oval Office affair secret, Team Clinton and the DC Media ganged up on this 21-year-old intern to smear her as a crazy stalker.
Gennifer Flowers – Character Assassination
Flowers, who had a 12 year affair with Clinton, claims that Hillary Clinton ran a “war room” against her during the 1992 campaign, the goal being to “smear, defame, and harm” her in order to win the presidency.
Hillary trashed Flowers mercilessly as a liar and more in the 1992 interview embedded at the top of this post.
***
The list above doesn’t include the long list of women who claim to have had extramarital affairs, and in one case, an illegitimate child with Slick Willy.
Elizabeth (Ward) Gracen – Extramarital One night stand
Dolly Kyle Browning – Extramarital Affair in 1992
Sally Perdue – Extramarital Affair
Lencola Sullivan – Extramarital Affair
Elizabeth Ward – Extramarital Affair
Susie Whitacre – Extramarital Office Affair
Bobbie Ann William – Extramarital Affair

Chelsea Clinton Smacked with
Chelsea Clinton Smacked with $150k Lawsuit
Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of Hillary and Bill Clinton, has lived an extremely easy and cushioned life. Just out of college she was making six figures and never even had to raise a cent for student loans.
Despite her easy life, her family has been the center of controversy for years. Her dad is a former president, who was impeached, and her mom ran for president but failed miserably to Donald Trump due to her corruption. The entire family is crooked, fraudulent, and evil, and now it appears as if Chelsea has added one more thing to her “Clinton resume”: plagiarism.
