Patti Smith note

Forums:

Patti Smith wrote an article for The New Yorker magazine about her performance for the Nobel ceremony. Amazing, I love her more every year.

The more I learn about her, the more I learn from her. I'm very moved by this article. Thanks for posting it.

That was great, she is so honest.

Judit - you should read her book Just Kids.. Anyone who has an interest should really.

She's the most honest performer I've ever come across.

She also happens to be honestly great. A rock star of the truest & best meaning of that trite label.

If you haven't seen her you better put her on the top of your bucket list.

Personally I passed up on her many times before finally going to a show about ten years ago.

I've never missed one I can make since.

GO TO THE PATTI SMITH SHOW!!!

Thanks to all of you. I haven't heard much of her music, but I've read her writing. Thanks for the recommendation, 6.

she put down in writing what was in her mind

Thank you for sharing her letter. I will be in attendance at her 70th bday show. It's always an honor and privilege to see her perform.

I have never seen her...

I have often wondered how vocalists manage to control their emotions to get through certain songs. I often get choked up singing along to the most seemingly innocuous lyrics, simply because of the memories that resonate with me, or the emotions the song triggers. In a way , that kind of  composure is one of the vocalist/artists best skills.

I felt Patti's trepidation humanized her more, not less...

"Just Kids" is one of the finest books I have ever read. Very beautifully honest. I've been lucky enough to have seen her live 6 or 7 times, one of my all time favorite performers.

The queen of New York

I was at this Robert Hunter show when he brought out Patti for New Speedway and Franklin's Tower

Just Kids was wonderful. What she witnessed, and participated in, was amazing.

Judit, if you don't know much of her music, listen to Banga, amazingly poetic.

Thanks, Dan.

This is why I love the Zone. First the Philzone, and now here.

Patti Smith is the Real Deal!
