Peaceful Passage for Stella

Forums:

Put our loving cat down today. She was a dear. A 20 year old ball of love.

Got her at a San Mateo rescue shelter back in 2007. A wonderful companion.

Sorry to read about your loss, Alan. Glad to read you had so many years of kitteh love.

Sorry to hear about the loss. Stella looks super sweet in the photo.

She;s crossed the Rainbow bridge to play with all of our collective lost souls...

Peace to Stella

20 years is quite the run.  Sure she was glad to have found you.

sorry brother, i love animals. safe travels stella.

Wishing you peace on your new journeys.  We have a two year old Bella (name from the shelter) who is a ball of fire (and love) who looks a little bit like her.   image_1814.jpg

Thanks all. You guys rock. ^ great pic keetch.

Weird day, proving you can still have new experiences as an old guy. We used a service that sends a vet to your home to put down your pet. Very compassionate guy. (Who knew people even did this?) And then buried Stella in a nearby pet cemetery. Two more very compassionate folks there. The backyard would have been fine (the current renters probably don't know what's in the yard back in San Rafael), but ours gets very wet, so we decided to support the local humane society and purchase a gravesite. Very quiet in the house tonight. Very quiet.

It all rolls into one
And nothing comes for free
There's nothing you can hold
For very long
And when you hear that song
Come crying like the wind
It seems like all this life
Was just a dream

I'm very sorry Alan, that's hard but what a wonderful long time to have such a beautiful cat.

Sorry for your loss.  But you made the right decision for your furry friend.  Peaceful traverls Stella!

So sorry.

I keep thinking that she had a good life with you folks and I'm sure you had a good time with her. I'm glad you found each other (right time right place), sorry it was time for her to go. Love to you.

what everyone said

Besides Covid, caring for an ancient cat kept us from straying too far from home ourselves. Before we get another pet, we are hoping to travel a bit, especially back out to our old stomping grounds out West, so here's to hoping we run into some Zoners in the year ahead. Good bunch of folks and thanks again for all the kitty condolences.

One unexpected outcome - the people who run the pet cemetery might want me to carve some stone memorials for them. Weird that the last piece I finished is "Death Don't Have No Mercy" (25 lbs from a single block of limestone). And I had just started "Love Letters" the word love, each letter on a side of a limestone stone block.

Pets are the very best, but they can sure leave you very sad.

Sorry for your loss.
