Yesterday, my brother started his new job as the first employee at an exciting new company called “Breakthrough Energy Ventures” (BEV). BEV is a new Bill Gates-led $1B venture capital fund focused on funding breakthrough clean energy technology startups.
A former Assistant Secretary for the US Dept of Energy in charge of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), he will now be part of an unprecedented private endeavor to create new, innovatative technology to develop clean, renewable energy.
