The cap's prices are in line with other venues in Westchester.. the nyc area is expensive. I'm sure this will be good for Woodstock tourism as I'm sure that's the goal not affordable shows for locals
Cap tickets are much in line with other comparable venues in the Northeast. Recently it's really just been Phil and Bobby shows that seem out of whack from a cost standpoint.
So the folks bashing Peter, Have you ever been to the Cap? Or one of his other Venues? Living within an hour to the Cap , I have been very blessed to attend many, many show's. After being seen by Peter at many he would take the time to stop and say hello and talk. Ive had some awesome conversations with him and have even been taken to the green rooms Ect by Pete. Not sure why the bashing of a guy who has brought us so many show's and now is Helping out a little jewel of the Hudson valley in Woodstock. Another venue I am within a Hour too. Looking forward to what it has to bring. Ive seen high priced shows and not so high priced show's. Its a Great Venue the Cap and have ahd Many fukin great times there and There's Always the Zoner crew thats always at the show's , Not Just Phil!!!.... Rant Over...
The price of tickets is just expensive in general these days that's the market. It will cost around the same thing to see Bob or Phil at the cap as it would cost to go see Pat Benatar at the Tarrytown Music Hall. Just as I bet it's about the same to see Dead and co. At the sphere as it will be to see The Eagles. In a way the GD are somewhat to blame as they showed profit from concerts could be a viable business plan as opposed to selling records

The artist's guarantee ultimately sets the ticket prices, the artists always have final say on ticket prices.
Don't like ticket prices, blame the artists, blame their popularity, blame the mega-scalping machine.
Shapiro is a successful independent promoter in a world of corporate promoters.
Which means he doesn't cancel his shows with no refunds, which is the only other alternative.

Fair point Lance... but are you sure tat it is that simple?
Bands have managers who negotiate the best price that they can get and promoters charge what they can to maximize profit on top.
The Cap's ticket prices arehigher than most.
We can both be right, and eating Raman for a week after scoring those great tix.
