And a saturday, Lucky Ducks..

Hopefully Phil plays VT again like last year. His son is playing Tumble Down fest a week later. Nice to see Phil on the lake.

In. Been about five years since I have seen Phil and I had come to the unfortunate conclusion that due to his restricted touring and my commitments at home, I would never get to see him again. This announcement blew me away. So happy.

With Twidde!!!!

what’s unbroken train referencing

Nice Chinarider!

Phil is a tired old man and the family band SUCKS

Who asked you?

Too awesome. Wish I could be there.

Have fun, guys.

Hi Floops!  I might swing through Holland this summer, maybe we can share a stroopwafel.

>>>>>Fitzman, really?

Phil's not tired

but the last shows I saw with the family band (Asbury & Camden) were almost tolerable.

That's not the Family Band, that's Twiddle with a good bass player

I know

Good deal China! I imagine you were thinking Phil would never play

there again. I hope you can score some good tickets.

Got tickets - presale code TERRAPIN2018

I'd love to get together. manoelikind @ gmail. Keep in touch.

Bump - who is in for Saturday?

I'll be there for the third time in a month. Love cmac, just hate the drive home. I got an extra underneath the shell for my price, $60. I see surgeon Simpson cancelled for the second time. Poor ticket sales

^  Yeah, it’s a nice venue.  Last time I went there for Roger Daltrey a few weeks ago I ubered to avoid driving.  The driver was a huge Who fan and had no idea Daltrey was playing.

Hey, I am planning on driving myself from NYC. Dreading the drive as well. If anybody wants to share a ride, company, small gas $$, im down. Alternatively if any kind soul is interesting in another zoner sharing a ride with them, Id ditch my car. Let me know!

He is the on the 26th at the waterfront. Tix been on sale for quite some time now.

No way I'm getting there in time. I sure hope someone streams. Phil always plays well upstate.

I could stream by the vriendin.

Ahhhhh I wanna be there.

Any news of a stream? I can do this one.

Please tell me some one's streaming.

I'll be there, down in front, around 15th row or so I think.

Been living at CMAC this summer, or so it seems. Been up there for Daltrey, TTB w/DBT, Fogerty w/ ZZ Top (ZZ Top put on the worst show of my concert-going career incidentally), and will be seeing Jason Isbell on Friday, the day before the Lesh show.

May be back up there again for Arctic Monkeys, David Byrne and probably something else I forgot. Was going to check out Sturgill before he canceled again too.

Hey, Sully. Sounds like a good summer.

Soooo close.

Hey Floops - yeah, it's been a pretty good run of shows this year. Also took in DeadCo at Darien and DBT at a little place in Woodstock.  Saw Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys a couple months ago too. Headed tp Watkins for the Phish festival as well.

CMAC is a gem and from where I am living on the east side, it's only one exit up the thruway. Couldn't be much closer. I have a former student volunteering as an usher there now too which is pretty neat as well. He works a handful of gigs and gets in for free at the rest, or some crazy awesome deal like that.

Hope you are doing well man!

Anyone up for a mini zoner meet up somewhere?

Scott from NYC is down to meet up,,when and where

Couldn't make this one unfortunately, and I can't imagine Phil being around WNY much again- if ever.

Have a blast all who make it, and I hope they tear it up!

We will be at Twisted Rail Brewery around 4, probably head to CMAC parking lot for tailgating around 5:30.

Okay, what's the real chance of a stream tonight?

If I'm gonna listen, then I need to go to a hot upper-floor apartment in another town.

If not, then I just chill here in the gorgeous weather on the nude camp.

I'd rather know, of course.

What to do?

Chances of a Roch stream is low, I'd think.

?????????????????????????

I'm in.

Tell me there's a stream.

Hhhhh

Sorry i missed you guys..im in lot 18-19 section white land rover..would love to say hi

Have fun, Scott. I hope ya connect.

holding pattern

Stream?

Can we at least get updates from one of you kind Zoners at the show, please?

Twiddle starting soon

Thanks, China.

I'd call ya C-R, but it makes me think of the other CR.

Wait. We have two bands and then Phil and it's just starting now?

Do I have that right?

So Phil will be on at like 11? That can't be right. 10:30?

I'm listening to Twiddle from a few years ago, and it's nice, but

DAMN, why can't jambanders sing? Why?

Now they've gone reggae with a Trey-like guitar lead.

Are they playing the theme to Night Rider? maybe not.

Twiddle is okay, but unoriginal. Smells too phishy.

I hope the show is good. lol

Who's playing now? Is the second band on yet?

How's it going?

Encore:

Music Never Stopped

Too wiped for a full review but Phil was beautiful tonight. I really don't think he stopped smiling the entire show. Crowd was dialed in, no weekend warriors.  Every time he sang the crowd exploded. I think everybody knew how special it was to get to see him in Upstate NY again. Alligator through Minglewood was blow the roof off energetic, I thought (I was down in the 14th row so I may be a bit biased). Jack o Roses killed the momentum a bit but it was time for something slower anyway. Everything else for the rest of the night was sharp as hell, with the exception of Morning Dew, which I though Phil should have sang instead of random family band dude (who availed himself well but I'd rather hear Phil sing those heavyweight songs).

I don't know the names of most of the band members but the guy with the long black hair playing a semi-hollow body of some sort was killing it all night.Phil's son isn't too bad either but I think they have one guitar too many in the band. Mix could have turned up Crosby's keyboards a bit more as well.

All in all it was a special night and I felt blessed to see our hero again - first time in five years for me. It was super emotional for me to see him come out on stage again and I may have shed a tear or two at that point. Stuck around for the donor rap and headed to the parking lot during the encore.

That was probably around the 90th time I have seen Phil and it wasn't lost on me that there is a very good chance that I may never see him perform again. I have to say, he seems totally on his game still and I hope he plays and tours as much as he wants and is capable of for as long as possible. That being said, if tonight was the last one for me, it was a beautiful coda to what's already been a very long and strange trip for me, dating back to my first show at Silver Stadium in '88 - which I know is like super newbie Touch-Head territory but shit, even that was 30 years ago already. Where DID the time go?

Had a similar feeling at the end of 2nd night Chicago Theater for the Duo run, like if this is it I'm at peace with it, they played Brokedown Palace for an encore which was the last song I heard Jerry sing...I get the feeling Phil is going to be here for a long while, Hoffman lived to be 102, the planet needs Phil right now.  As beautiful as Dead & Co summer tour was, it wasn't exactly the same as far as that psychedelic tingling feeling of Phil on bass, excited you were able to be there this evening, nicely done!

* When I think of Rochester I always think of the War Memorial for Jerry Tour! :)

Phil sounded great, we had a fun time and happy to meet Scott from NYC!

I thought the song selection was excellent, Jack O Roses is a perfect introduction to Terrapin.  MNS encore really jammed.  Smiles all around!

Too fuckin' cool.

Great review, Sully. Thanks.

Great points, China. What an encore.

Wow.

I hope I get to hear it someday.

Anyone see any tapers?

I saw at least four or five tapers, mostly in the rear and on the lawn just behind the walkway. I did see one guy going stealth, not too far from the soundboard.

China Rider..nice to meet you..great show, cool venue..Twiddle was pretty tasty and jammy for sure..i waa really impressed with Graeme.seemed lik he was the band leader at times. Some of his solos were very nice too. Agreed maybe 2 too manny guitars on stage at once. But the gent who sang Morning Dew crushed it.
