Listening to this makes me glad I got to see the Q back in the early 2000s.  Also makes me wish that Phil played more regularly with better quality musicians.  Stream sounds great listening to this one...

Endings seem a bit abrupt at least to me.

One of my absolute favorites

Acadian

The only Band album I ever had. Love it.

Barracos voice sounds better to me more mature and not as strained sounding

can someone take over setlists thc or thx // too baked WoW fresh monster cookies

That was good!

I sure hope that no one takes issue with this rock band playing bluegrass tonight like last night when they reacted to them playing a jazz number.

Howard that was _____________ real good.

the set list screams Phil

First time I went to the Cap it was to see Furthur.  It was the anniversary of Levon’s death and they encored with Angel Band.

Really enjoyed that set - esp. The Eleven.

Nice, bluegrass sounds more this lineup's speed. Didn't Phil used to be in some kind of electric bluegrass band, back in the 60s?

Great show!

A++++++++++

Terrapin Dew was spectacular off the charts good.  Warren was incredible all night. Words don't describe what herring does to the fingerboard. Absolutely shreds

Barry is Wise

Really what a special night.

It went from being a gentle rainfall to a typhoon of music.

It was ballet and breakdancing.

It was Phamily reunion: both longtime and brand new

It was just exactly perfect

It IS Phil. In his glory

^^^ was trying to find you last night, ran into Peak15, but as was moving slowly thru the crowd and paused for a sec, got asked to leave "his area" by some intimidating loudmouth with the pregnant girlfriend who wouldn't even listen, just kept raising his voice, telling me that I was insulting him by pausing there.

Some surly fans for such a happy musical night.

On the flip side, some other fan told me that "I owned the place."    If only!

Surly fans like that make me not to go to crowded shows like this.

Skipped last night but several nuggets to track down.

I guess I must be in for tonight.

MONSTER SHOW last night!!!  It’s been awesome to see and hang with so many

Zoners in the house the last two nights!! Zoner Nation is back!

Phil’s gonna keep this Q-party going, see you again tonight!!!

I was only half tuned in for last night's Q, so I'll be giving it a better viewing/listening this afternoon as a set-up for tonight's show.

>>>Some surly fans for such a happy musical night.<<<<

They're coming to take the Tuesday shows now.

I am on cloud Nine, it has been just absolutely wonderful <3. Seeing everyone again from near and far, knowing we are all grooving and moving to the amazing music coming from our fav musicians....this is really a treat and I am so grateful to be here !!

RRG !!   It was great to share the show with you once we figured out who we were....lol !  So good to see you again and many other zoners...Ro J, FaFa, Joe Knox ( whom I know from my home music scene), Lindsey, Brian..from afar, Laura( froggys pj's), Z man...  and many others.

Getting ready to head out and do it all over again, pacing myself, nourishing and getting plenty of rest has helped me to make it thru....

Gonna be sentimental tonight at the last note and bow....I friggan LOVE this band !!

The Wayfaring Stranger was especially beautiful to me <3

Many many tears

What is the best way to watch videos of these three shows

i want to cry more

In other words, just another night with Phil.

Same as it ever was, same as it ever is.

Good for those who were there.

^^luv ya lance but you sounding kinda bitter? (shrug emoticon)

tues was not (YET)the power and the glory but it was ramping up that way

not sure what else anyone could have asked for

my living room had the occasional talker i had to shut down. overall, i was pretty lucky each night with co dancers. 2nd night was my girl polka dot & a sweet boy in a cool jerry shirt. best thing about my place was folks mostly stopped by for a photo op. Bwahahahaha ...felt like daffy duck and his giant pearl

the funniest was watching the #pissbreakline form at mountains of the moon (double shrug emoticon)

lol

ok, a box woulda been swell.

(((((lltd)))))) may i be so bold as to ask your bday?

my weepy moments were mostly related to my recently passed unlce Rick, although i got to miracle his lil sis for the Power&Glory night which was a sweet treat to be able to do

anyhoo, my father was in my heart a lot, and whenever my man is not at a show with me, i shed a tear for missing him in 3D. he did stream weds tho, thankfully (:

>>> lance but you sounding kinda bitter?<<<

No, not at all and not my intention with that post.

My point is that, rather amazingly, Phil continues to be what he's always been, a force of nature & IMO one of the great musicians of our time who virtually every time he walks onto a stage continues to play moving, often brilliant music.

I've seen Phil perform well over 300 times over 43 years, and many of those have been in the past ten years, and I can honestly count on the fingers of one hand how many times I've walked out disappointed with him personally, and a quintet's amount of fingers (and maybe some toes) significantly disappointed with the shows I've seen him perform.

The only bitterness I may feel is about time moving the way it does, but there's nothing to be done about that and every day is a gift, so I'm not REALLY bitter about that.

At 81 Phil is showing us that he's still "got it", and THAT'S a gift. For me, especially at this point, it doesn't all have to be Fillmore East 1970, Winterland '74, Barton Hall '77 or even the Warfield '99 or Masonic Hall '01...

I just ask for a little rock 'n roll, and just a little bit more.

And Phil Lesh, as he always has, continues to provide that, and a little bit more.

I write a mini personal review for myself after every show I see. I just looked at the one for the last Phil show I saw, this past June in the TxR park, after having not seen him or much of anything for a year & a half. Here's some excerpts, which for me says a bit about what I'm feeling and trying to say...

"got there a bit late, it was great walking to the venue on a glorious sunny afternoon with a gentle Dark Star echoing through the neighborhood/a solid band who know each other & the music well, playing fine, thoughtful versions of various great songs, excellent flowing ensemble jamming throughout, Lebo on steel so good, Grahame not in the way & solid on rhythm, and Phil, oh Phil Lesh... SO GOOD!! STILL, SO DAMN GOOD!!! IT'S AMAZING!!!/it was so great to be back, a feeling of making it through, as always looking forward to more - light another match, start anew indeed."

No bitterness allowed.

Long live Phil Lesh

Long live the Grateful Dead

No shit Sherlock

sherlock whonow?

Aw shucks. Crushes of any type are nice. I'm blushing, just a bit.

And after reading my latest essay on Phil & his bands, I'm expecting some to possibly come in to say, "Oh you'd like anything Phil does, even if banging on tin cans with five-year-olds."

Despite the fact that I have a soft spot for five-year-olds (I used to teach pre-school & 1st grade, what a marvelous age those years are) that's not a true statement.

There are musicians who have played with Phil who are not my favorites, or who I really don't care for, and there are configurations Phil has played with that I have skipped because of that.

But I'm also lucky enough to know first hand that, despite popular opinion, Phil has & continues to play with many excellent and varied musicians, many who are not necessarily well known but who are still very good, professional musicians who especially play really well with Phil, and that Phil has a way of bringing out the best in many, many players.

The players/music doesn't always work for me personally, but as always I try to remember that there is a difference between not liking something and thinking it's not good.

Obviously the reviews on these Q shows have been gushing, and I believe they're sincere and that's great, but folks also had good things to say about the shows Phil played in Nashville & Colorado, and it will be interesting to hear what folks have to say about the next couple of runs Phil plays at the Cap.

As I said before, not everything can be the Q in '02 (I'm not sure but I think that '00 & '01 were better for the Hallowed Q, but '02 rhymes with Q) but, despite what many believe, the music can be and most often is still really good and very satisfying.

Anyway, it sure seems like Phil is going to continue playing, which is far fucking out, and it also means he's going to continue playing with lots of different people. And that's fine with me.

Keep 'em coming Phil.

You're not done yet, and neither are we.

I watched the stream of 10/12 last night.

What a 2nd set!

From what I'm hearing, the sound has better crackle on this audio recording:

https://youtu.be/hOc8kCmjuXQ

How do they subdue Phil's bass so much in those streams (also, why?)?

It's like trying to see your favorite star with a full moon out.

Gushingly gushing
