Think CRB has a good possibility of being the friends.

Damn !

Bugs me that the Cap shows are announced 2 months in advance, while TXR shows are usually like, 3 weeks.

Sure its easy to fill TXR, but it doesn't really give folks from (way) out of town/state/country/planet/universe much planning time.

Hey I'll be in southern VT that weekend!

I heard dylan and trey are gonna be special guests....

whats the pre-sale password?

wearegrateful...:)

i always bitch about buying the tic w/o lineup info, but i always buy one.

if you want to see a phil show the time would be now

PRE-SALE CODE anybody, please.

A Zoner on another thread mentioned the same lineup in May.

^^^^PRE-SALE CODE anybody, please.

Check Cumberlyns post.

Reviving this thread to discuss lineup due to the following scheduling items I just noticed:

1) Chris Robinson is now booked at TXR on May 25, so he's out.

2) Molo and Sless are suddenly available due to DNB cancelling their Ohio dates.

3)Trey, Warren and Scofield are booked elsewhere.

4) Bruce Hornsby may be in the area, as he has a NY date on May 29.

Door number two please.

YES! You found it! :)

The guessing-game (Who's on Bass?) makes it sort of fun, but my conservative side sees a rather extravagant investment in travel, lodging, dog-sitter fees for unknown lineup.

However, I'm planning on seeing the Mets & Giants game at Citifield, second week of May. Never been there, but saw a bunch at Shea as a kid. So even though it's still an expensive proposition, it will be novel and quite Unique laugh

I'm with ya Disco, it's ridiculous to book flights w/o a lineup. Baseball is always a good call!

Kadlecik, Crosby, Sless, Molo & Joan

I live 40 miles from the place and as much as I love Phil I wouldn't even fill my gas tank without knowing the lineup.

I really do enjoy the Cap as a venue, and there's a great Dog-sitter midway between Cap & Philton. Fun, fun fun and always great to go out for snacks with the other Zoners.  If Phil would just pick out a lineup and tell us, it would be a simple decision.

For the Ball Game, it's a day show, so easy commute on NJTransit & LIRR, sleep at home. I think Mets tixx are liek, 25-35 for the budget seats. Compared to 109.50 for Cap GA tixx, that saves me 70-80 bucks for extravagant Beer & Thai food.

So I will wait to hear of the lineup before I consider another Cap visit, but I know that the Mets & Giants will be at Citifield and play games.

Just for perspective, I'm not a Wall-Streeter. 3 nights of PC Cap is about 500-600 buxx for tickets & lodging, then there's Food &  Beer to consider.

For that amount of Leisure Ca$h I can jet to Puerto Rico or some other balmy Beach in the Dead of February.

Once is enough for the ticket cash shell out with no lineup.

Jonas, i'd happily take that lineup.

Unless they surprise with a big name or notable lineup, tix should be an easy day-of pick up. Lots of other options on the eastern seaboard that weekend. Molo is the secret sauce to PL&F in current times. Have not checked out his schedule but imagine he's spoken for.

^^^^^

he was until DNB cancelled their appearance at the darkstar jubilee..as of now him and Sless are available..

hopefully phil bases this band around molo and sless. at  least try to have the shows be entertaining.

Well if you're not going to go see Phil Lesh and Friends over the Memorial Day weekend, then this is the show to go see!

https://www.levonhelm.com/shows/2017/5/26/midnight-ramble-band

The answer to the question as to whether Larry and Teresa will be part of PL&F on Friday, May 26th is 'highly unlikely'.

H2

Bring on the Family Band at the Cap!

Joke all you want, but they are doubling down on the Family Band no matter what people say. They know the tickets will still sell, and for much lower overhead.

well, they would be well rehearsed

wink

These gigs were not listed on the Family Band web page so I doubt that they will be the band.

When Phil and the family band come 2 the NYC area they play the Brooklyn Bowl..it's not gonna b the Family band(I wouldn't b surprised if Sunday was phil and the family band at the bowl considering Monday is Memorial Day)..

Lesh

Sless

Molo

Herring

Hornsby

^^^^Keep dreaming

that is my dream lineup.   throw in a little david nelson too.

Dave's not here.

Hornsby has a gig in NYC area after that weekend.

Yay Phil (:

This is the Viva la Zone rule that applies to this thread:  ... purposely disruptive secondhand information, unsubstantiated hearsay, gossip, ugly rumors

Hey, I'm not posting rumors... only posting unbooked artists and artists in the area. People can draw their own conclusions.

I'm losing my religion and I don't know if I can do it.

Pure dreck.

I love Phil, but not enough to subject my ears to Ross James.

$20 for your extras......and that's being generous cheeky

What a fucking joke......Phil is cooked.

I would do $30 for the second night

Interesting batch of musicians !

I'll listen to to some of the 'tapes' if I get around to it.

Bit of a drive for me to go see all that.

I grabbed tickets for Saturday.  I'm not particularly gushing at the lineup but am also of that thought that there are only so many more times Phil will be doing shows close enough for me to drive down and back.  Plus, I'm intrigued to hear what Robert Randolph will bring to the mix.

I hear ya Mr. Spac 84.

Always enjoy each P&F show with whatever lineup.  Every one is a Rare Treat, klunkers & all.

However the PC Cap is a challenging drive for me ::: Nj Turnpike, Garden State Parkay, GWB and all that stuff.

'Such a long long Time to be there with a Short Time to be Gone'.

Yeah that's a misquote, I know wink

^^^is that for real?

ross MF james in the band !!
i am not loving phil these past few cap runs and now this lame lineup puts the nail in it for me. too expensive for what i am getting in return.   IMO

why change the lineup?

looks pretty awful.

This line-up is disappointing to say the least.

Definitely not worth $100 a ticket. Money is tight; I'm glad I waited to buy tickets.

If Phil wants to lower the musician level of the band, that is his choice. Then lower the ticket prices accordingly.

And if they don't rehearse enough this could be really bad.

PHIL Bring THE GOODS This Fall No BS ! and On THE West Coast ! ALL Your SICK Fav Friends #TimeToShineFALL 2017 #BRINGIT

After seeing 2 amazing JRAD shows this weekend, not going to spend precious travel $$ on this lineup. If I lived w/in reasonable driving distance, I'd make the trip.

Rehearse?  Don't think there will be much if any of that.  Just makes me wish I would have seen more of the Q.

Just saw the lineups

Ugh

Oh well, guess we might never see Phil play again

Sucks but we're okay with that, not spending $1,000+ to see this stuff. Sure it would be fun but not for the scratch!

This looks like a very interesting lineup.denson and Jackie are top notch,Jason is great on the keys.hope Randolph fits good the man can play!

Jackie = top notch?!  LOL......

Ouch.

Really glad I decided to sit these out.

Molo and Sless both available and this is what he puts together?

Everybody poo poo'd the Denson line ups in Brooklyn last year and those shows were the best thing Phil did on the east coast last year. Stay home people,  more room for me.

Both lineups look good to me, folks will have a good time for sure!

Denson is great.  Robert Randolph can get a little too busy for my tastes.

Denson had to miss a BDSM show and BSM was much less exciting.

Peeps should really revisit the threads leading up 2 Coney Island last September...same whine coming back at ya..and we know how wrong peeps were about that lineup...the zone never learns or apparently stops complaining..

One BIG difference between this line up and Coney Island shows is the omission of Soulive.  And do not forget what a complete hack RJ is.......

and the drummer.

korford is terrible.

I would bet that 2nd night will be pretty good. Phil has played with most or all of these guys before, and Casal is a very good guitarist.

Also they will have rehearsed on Friday night, gotten their bearings.

Koford will be an added percussionist / vocalist.  You have Tony Leone on the kit.

Koford will be an added percussionist / vocalist.  You have Tony Leone on the kit.

This.

I am keeping an open mind, as I loved the Coney Island shows and these are birthday shows so I got the party thing covered. Worst case I'm the drunk dude spilling beer all over you fuckers :)

"Koford will be an added percussionist / vocalist."

And beer drinker.

"One BIG difference between this line up and Coney Island shows is the omission of Soulive"

HUGE difference.

Too many cooks spoil the stew.

<<<>>>Koford will be an added percussionist / vocalist.  You have Tony Leone on the kit.

oh i see. yeah, leone is awful as well.

Phil should drop Koford for a night and give JeffG a shot.

It actually doesn't matter all that much to Band or Audience.

People that feel like attending will have Fun.

P&F will come close to a Sell-out and get paid to play Music.

Personally I'm hoping to attend DelFest that weekend, for about the same price of admission, but with lots of different Bands.

Never been, but the Drive is about the same Time, and you can camp there.

So that will be something New.

For sale (yes I Custied Up & bought w/o knowing the lineup - painful lesson learned):

Pair of Balcony tix for each night - E-Tickets

Fri = Balc Cen Row D;  Sat = Balc Cen Row E

No reasonable offers refused . . .

Throw a good rock drummer into the mix and these line-ups would have a chance of rising with the tide. Tony Balone just doesn't do it.

And,

I really have come to appreciate the Cap PC venue over the handful of Phil & Friends shows attended there.

Pretty cushy chairs, decent Beer prices with a good selection, and staff is generally pleasant.

Good choice of local Eating spots nearby,  with reasonable prices.

Sound is usually fine.

In many ways I like it waay better than  the "Nokia" although it's a further commute.

Hey Bob!  I'll give you $40 for both nights.

Nokia was cushy but always sounds like a basement. Can't have a good rock sound with such a low ceiling, in my opinion.

Even right by SB at the Nokia  I just couldn't find my Nice Place, sonically.

There's always the Good Spot close to stage, where you get the onstage Amp/Monitor sound with house PA behind you. But at Noke on weekends there was a high density of drunken Brokers & attornies stepping on yer feet.  The only remedy was to spark a doob of hi-octane so they would stagger off or fall to the sidelines.

The Bass Room was Bassy, but a nice crowd.

Cap has more leisurely acoustics in general, plus if an earthquake happens you're near Ground level and can escape quickly.

I love the guy he had on drums for his bday

(((((Nokia Speaker Room)))))

And, lol, McKenna; indeed!

Fri pair is gone.  I may still go Sat as it's the "least bad" of the 2 lineups (Neil Casal instead of Gackie Greene is something of an upgrade).  If that's the case then 1 tix is for sale for Sat but you'd have to sit next to me ;(

Fitz, be happy w/JRAD, you'll get your "Shitty Bar Band Vocals on GD 1st Set Filler Songs" fix there . . .

I know that Sideshow will  be there Saturday night, doing the 'Octopus missing one tentacle' dance and having a Ball.

Then later he will dissect the microscopic details of the interaction between Ross James & Neal Casal and how the lighting cues were flawed.

"A Minor should always be Turquoise, not Violet", and so forth.

"The spare percussionist, while excelling at the Vibraslap, had a Blue Solo cup on the speaker cabinet, while clearly Red Solo cup would have better matched the background curtains."

Of course,

SSB will reply that "Hüsky, although notably enlivened by "Pride of Cucamonga", seemed a bit sedated by the "Unbroken Chain" almost to the point of lethargic Howling, only to succumb to a well-needed Nap..."

002spyds_2.jpg

Bob, that's priceless surprise

What's funny is nobody was praising Soulive before the Coney Island shows..something about kras doesn't have a psychedelic bone in his body and the Evans brothers don't know GD music..practice u talking bout practice and all the other typical whine that happens on the zone..now it's soulive made the Coney Island shows..hilarious....give the band a chance before u pan them...is what Coney Island showed us..plus Koford could b on a kit as well and the band will have two drummers which might help Tony Leone out...we shall see..

Some cats on here like Soulive a whole lot. I'll hold on to my reservations about Bill Evans, though, thanks.

>>>>>>>>>.plus Koford could b on a kit as well and the band will have two drummers which might help Tony Leone out...we shall see..

lol

Good stuff Jelly

koford is gonna help leone figure out how to plays drums?

hahahahahha

"What's funny is nobody was praising Soulive before the Coney Island shows."

The point is that they are an established band with a working chemistry, not a bunch of pick-ups players thrown together for a few gigs.

Not figure out sir..add to the sound so it not as thin as it was last Memorial Day run w just Leone...and except for Randolph..they are all pretty established playing w Phil...even Denson has a few under his belt...practice u talking bout practice...

phil's band could definitely use some practice.

Hahaha, i recall everyone bashing the Coney lineup and it ended up being great. Oh how quickly we forget.

This could end up being really good.

There are now a couple extras on stubhub for less than face already, Saturday at least.

Soulive is a great band with a long history. The Saturday show might be decent; we shall see!

But really Phil has no excuse for charging full price for cheaper talent. That's the reality here.

Ok, so these last weeks

Leone, Koford, Casal, Crosby all played with Phil

will we see Greene, Denson, Randolph come around?

sometimes Randolph plays too loud imho

> But really Phil has no excuse for charging full price for cheaper talent. That's the reality here.

ticket sales are "reality" and dictate otherwise....

A fool and his money are soon parted.

>>>>>>ticket sales are "reality" and dictate otherwise....

It's true.  There are enough fans that don't care about quality that Phil could announce he was just going to fart in a mic and he would still almost sell out the Cap.

question?

mf-rj is enuf to keep me away from this run (after seeing him try to play with warren at summerstage w/ phil & friends).

who else is 'not even' considering going b/c of mf rj specifically?

RMFJ still can't sing, but his guitar playing is improving.
