"Goose Guy" becoming the hardest working guy in the jamband  scene since Warren Haynes...

Doesn't Mitarotonda translate to "gets around" ?

How underwhelming.

From an email:

It's time for another Phil Lesh & Friends Birthday Party! On March 15, 17-19 the grateful Dead co-founder celebrates his 83rd birthday here at The Cap for the first time since 2019! Featuring an all-star group of friends featuring Rick Mitarotondaof Goose, Grahame Lesh, John Medeski, Nicki Bluhm (3/17-19), James Casey, Natalie Cressman (3/15), Jennifer Hartswick (3/15), Katie Jacoby(3/17-19) + John Molo, it's going to be an incredible weekend.

Each day of this run is unique starting with his birthday party on Wednesday, March 15! Friday, March 17 is St. Patrick's day, while Saturday, March 18 is the best night of any week to get out and rock. The weekend culminates on Sunday, March 19 with Phil's hundredth show since our 2012 reopening.

We can't believe four years have passed since Phil's last birthday show here, and we're psyched to have everyone back for 2023!

Online Only Pre-sale is WED, JAN 25 at 10AM through THU, JAN 26 at 10PM

Password is PHIL83

Public On-sale is FRI, JAN 27 at 10AM

An 83 year old performer who sells out all his shows can play with whomever the hell he wants to. Not for us to decide. Not buying a ticket is always an option.

I have tix on 3/17 to see DSO in Wilkes Barre. Honestly a tough call on whether to tag on a show with this lineup the next night.  But f*ck me .... someone else will buy that seat and be happy with it. Strong rhythm section!

Glad that the old man is still jammin....

lineup is underwhelming for sure, but with great joy i am noting that the lineup has dropped BEFORE tickets go on sale, which is a very welcome change from most recent phil/shappy shows, and is just objectively a good and positive thing for the fans and the community. much appreciated.

An 83 year old performer who sells out all his shows can play with whomever the hell he wants to. Not for us to decide.

nobody wants to decide anything for him, they are expressing their opinions about phils music on an internet message board whose central purpose is connecting with other fans and sharing our opinions and experiences regarding the music. there's always gotta be someone who treats complaining about a phil lineup on the zone as if a group of philzone GL detractors were petitioning phil to stop playing with the txr crew or traveling from show to show to heckle grahame.

I'd love to see Medinski / Molo / and Phil as a trio...   doing free improv.

I think horns are better than a third guitar.

go see Phil and molo, it's still a thing. The rest is just different toppings on your sundae...

Katie Jacoby! Didn't see that coming. She is a very talented electric violin player, played with The Who on their 2019 tour, playing the violin in Baba O'Riley. Also plays with the Ed Palermo Big Band.

I'm gonna guess most folks who think this is an underwhelming lineup perhaps forgot how great molo and medeski are. And then perhaps also these same people have never seen the tab horns or the gooseman, all of whom are A+ musicians and know how to jam as well as just about anyone! And, oh.... Nicki Blum!! Get back on the bus gus! Remember....like Nike said.... life is short, trip hard!!

Thanks for the perspective Starkstar & Daylight. You are wise ....

Beautiful. Happy Birthday Phil.

Lovely night at the Cap. I brought an old friend who had never been there before.  He picked a winner.

Phantastic show at Cap.   Phil was smiling all night, was right on all evening.  And horn section added sooooooooooo much.  Friday, hear we go after Long Island,.

It sounded great on the webcast too!

buon appetito Andy Phil and Friends Doin fine
