Great show tonight - Low Key - super polite listening audience. First and only time I've seen a stand alone Other One.

Phil sounds great.  The band seemed kind of shakey (pun kind of intended)

This show was terrific - not a mind blower but like a fantastically comforting experience.

The audience was reverent, intently listening and completely focused 'cept for a few shmos in front of Phil that kept yelling inane, "we want Phil,' chants.

The band was both super loose and drum tight with arrangements.

Crosby and Lebo are both amazingly talented foils for Stu and Phil - egging on the melodies and taking wild solo spins that nearly stole the Thunder and Lightning from the main characters.

Niki added a lot - though I take issue with her unfamiliarity with some of the tunes which results in awkward lyric cadences over things like West LA Fadeaway - but her presence was more likeable than not and she killed on her duet with Stu during Morning Dew.

Phil powered through but seemed troubled by a severe case of the sniffles and a box full of tissues.

The stand alone rendition of the The Other One was probably the only time I've heard that song (after almost 40 years of seeing it) have no transition into or out of it and it was a fine but low-key exploration of it.

Finally - got to say that while I prefer an engine like Molo or Lipp behind the drum throne I have to give props to Korford and his laid back style for giving tons of space for the music to breath and the jams, though less intense than my experience has been with more aggro drummers involved was great for the sense of space it provided.

Set list rocked too!

I sure hope there's more Stu with Phil in the future - that was one of the best value shows I've seen in my many in the Grate Room!

I'll second the above review. We had a fantastic time at the show last night and certainly to hear more Phil and Stu playing together soon.

Jambase used my vid in their review of the 1/29/17 Thunder and Lightning show:
