Philadelphia Venues

Forums:

He’ll all... my son is off to college in Philadelphia.  We’re not familiar with the area st all.  We’re hoping for some advise on good venues large and small to listen to some great music down there.

Thank you !!

so many. Well if you are here, then the Fillmore will have some, not great, but decent acts.  The Mann for outdoor fun, The Keswick theater, the Tower, Ardmore Music Hall. These are all on the border (except fillmore). Couple of shed/arenas too.  Have phun! good luck to the kiddo.

Great info!!

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts contains 2 theaters under 1 roof, Verizon Hall (cap. 2500 seats) and the Perelman Theater (cap.650 seats). Got to catch 2 King Crimson shows at the Verizon Hall in 2014, it has a unique "cello shape" with excellent acoustics and sight lines. A great place to se a show.
