Wow, just seeing all this about violence at the show last night.

Detailed info seems a bit sketchy, but it does sound like what happened happened inside the venue, not out where the creeps sell their shit.

I don't know the Gorge, but would the nitrous mafia dudes be INside the venue during the show? Or could it be just punkass losers who are also Phish fans not liking people of color in their venue?

If it was the nitrous dudes this will more likely become an ongoing issue, if it was just a couple of random bastards from the middle of nowhere Washington fucking with people then it will be an isolated thing. I have a hard time believing that the nitrous people would look to start trouble, as they are there to make money, not beat the shit out of random people.

I heard there were some issues that got physical at the Shoreline Dead & Co. shows a couple of weeks ago when security confronted the nitrous people. Probably the same punks.

I get people like to party, but common people, stop buying balloons from these losers.

I really hope the Nazi-aggro West-coast element that overshadowed this weekends shows at the Gorge stays out west and doesn’t fuck up the Midwest and East-coast scenes which are definitely anti-West-coast-Nazis and the violence that they embrace.

All of these Dreams is a personal favorite of mine. Got it about 9 years ago in Hampton, and maybe once or twice pre-break up. Too bad it wasn't played during the show but hopeful they will play it again this run.

Well since the event took place on the west coast I’m going to feel comfortable lumping in all attendees as “West-coasters” even if it means a small percentage of people from elsewhere get their names dragged through the mud too. 

That’s the final ruling. 

I've never been to The Gorge to see a show. Looking at the Shakedown Saturday photo above illustrates one reason why. It's a beautiful area, but... No Trees! I'm a tree hugger, and I would have had no bark to embrace under that blazing summer sun. No relief all day. Glad I went to Tahoe, more my style. Big trees = shade.

Have fun in SF, folks. I'll be in Sacramento helping my son move to a new apartment. Wasn't planning on going to BGCA anyway. I knew that Tahoe trip would dent the budget pretty hard, and it was totally worth every penny. We were there enjoying the planet for a couple of extra days before Phish arrived. Boogie on, Zoners!

Next Live Phish for me will be Halloween in Las Vegas! Mrs. Tofu Head and I are very excited. 1st Phish Halloween for both of us! Vegas is the only place with no trees that I visit regularly.  I love to go there, and love to come home to Sonoma County even more.

Definitely a tale of what transpired In regards to the attacks Saturday.

This is not a coastal area, it's as close to Coeur d'Alene as the open Pacific. The area is unfortunately a hotbed of white-supremacy; the victims were dark-skinned with dreadlocks.

Strange that Live Nation's people allegedly failed to pursue a suspect when identified, and waited so long to call the cops.

Actually,  that would be expected from "Live Nation's people".  They are just locals working for cheap $$ with no serious security training.

The thugs who smashed the victims with rocks were aware of un-trained security,  and acted under the cover of low-light conditions,  then ran away and hid in the Crowd.

Vast majority of Phish Fans are not there to fight,  probably a bit High,  and not expecting violent assailants with rocks to attack people.

Having been to the George Gorge numerous times,  I can say that it's an easy target for pre-meditated Criminals.  Late - '90's there was a well-organized group of thieves who(m) stole tons & tons of camping gear,  backpacks,  anything loose,  and stuffed it all in a Ryder truck.

Some of them got caught,  and some people got their stuff back.  The thieves acted when everyone was in the Show,  not watching their Stuff.

On a more serious note these were probably some local yokels who went to the show to cause trouble with what they consider easy liberal targets. Probably emboldened by the current fascist atmosphere in America

Not a surprise Live Nation wouldn't want to bring attention to this.. They  throw giant drug parties on properties they own with lax security and completely unsafe conditions.(Funny how the guy from the Schwag got locked up and had his land taken for just that) This is like the cruise industry not wanting you to know that rapists and pedophiles prey on people on cruises.  

Has Phish put out a statement ?  Has Live Nation ? Has the local news run the story ?  Would this have come out at all if not for facebook and Live For Live Music reporting ?
