My big gripe about the official Phish video streams is too many close up shots of the band. We all know what those dudes look like and they aren't getting prettier with age.
Half the fun of Phish is their killer light show. Need to see more of that and like the new stage setup.
>>>My big gripe about the official Phish ALL video streams is too many close up shots of the band<<<
It's always been that way, and unfortunately likely always will be.
As for Phish's lighting, I guess I'm just a grumpy old man now, but these days especially I think it's all too much. With the lights endlessly blasting into our eyes it's distracting & annoying to me.
I look to sit behind the stage at their shows nowadays. The light show is GREAT from there. Otherwise I usually have my hat down over my eyes the entire show.
But that bit from the first video is pretty amazing. They do always try to put on a good show.
Honestly, I thought this was one of the coolest things I've seen. A-plus and hope it was as cool in person as it was on the phone screen.
Looks like they had a digital waterfall too. Pretty rad way to elevate the show and I can only imagine being on some decent hallucinogenics and enjoying the ride.
I find the lights are also tremendous and only enhance the experience. I hear what you are saying Lance but I take it as what Phish brings....not necessarily what I'd want from every musician.
I like the surreal oceanic references and symbols that can transform a bowl of an arena as such. Just a well-done transposition of a rock show tribute to Earth Day. It was a cool change from "simple" balloon drops and typically accompanying light shows to something different and meaningful. I love the oceans but am not a Phish fan too. Well done, pholks!
Phish flooded MSG with sea water to the point were whales were seen to be cavorting inside the fabled arena. It's nothing short of a miracle the concertgoers and band survived.

If you're going to imagine, why settle for decent hallucinogenics? Conjure up some of Owsley's finest; I dare you.
