Why Bill Graham and not the Greek

and i thought i was lazy

Nothing in the Midwest.frown

Watkins Glen!

>>>Why Bill Graham and not the Greek<<<

Those two shows are in the middle of the week, and I do believe the Greek is still a weekends only venue.

Plus Phish likes playing the Civic.

Plus Phish RAGES in that old-school rock hall...

phish.jpg

See you there!

I'll also be in Tahoe for sure, another GREAT place to see them...

harveys.jpg

And maybe LA too.

The Gorge is pretty sweet

I'm just doing the local show. Lotta people complaining about the 360 venue but they are babies.

Camden the only Northeast stop?

^^^^^

festival at Watkins glen.....

^bummer, not interested in festivals. Was hoping to get a show within a 30 minute drive. Starting to think I won't be seeing these guys again.

In for Merriweather! I've seen every show they've played there except for the opening set they played for Santana in '92. Rock N Roll!!devil

Pretty much only interested in the Watkins Fest.

Magnaball was Phish Heaven.

Gonna have to make sure some upgrades on the RV are ready by August.  Gotta be ready for Glenn Close.

I hope phish goes easy on the poor roof at MPP.

Whats the rumored dates for Watkins Glenn HL? My wife and her cousin have been asking. After their reports of the last fest I might actually tag along this time.

8/17 Watkins Glen International Raceway, Watkins Glen, NY
8/18 Watkins Glen International Raceway, Watkins Glen, NY
8/19 Watkins Glen International Raceway, Watkins Glen, NY

It's definitely happening, I don't think I can swing it this year, but if it's an option definitely DO IT!!!

Would love to buy you a Sip of Sunshine if you go, Jonas.

I usually leave my tin foil hat at home for these things.

Dont wanna lose it or damage it.

I was at the 3 show Gorge Run back in '13 and while I loved the shows and being in the venue - getting inside and then back to our vehicle was beyond stupid.

It took more than an hour to walk from my car parked on a massive sloping lot North of the venue to actually being inside the place 3 days in a row and generally speaking more than an hour to get back.

It takes less time to get to my car in the back lot at Shoreline gig and drive all the way home to my house in the middle of SF then it did to get out of the Gorge Amphitheater and get to my car.     STUPID.

I stayed at the nearby Wild Horse campground the last three or so times I have been up to the Gorge.  Its a chill retreat from dust and chaos of the Mad Max world of the main lot.   Plus, there is regular complimentary party bus shuttles to and from the main gate which sure beats that slog to and from the main lot.   Will be staying at Wild Horse again for this run.

Hmmm… A few days after my 45th…. HL, If I do go I'll bring a bunch of cases from my local - NEBCO -and we'll enjoy. Even if I don't go, I'll still have the wife bring up something for your crew.

Try these on and see if they fit

I had a blast at the last Phish Fest, its the only thing I would consider this year unfortunately. Still not sure if I will do it with the family or not...

Ended up doing 12/29-1230-12/31 at MSG- Raging into 2018!

thanks Scottocs and Rob!!

what are you guys going for?!

Hey Ro - Although I'll be in Colorado for a couple weeks during July, I'm staying east for Phish and am planning to do Alpharetta and the yet to be announced Watkins Glen.

Never been to Alpharetta- sounds good!

we shall see... Just committed to first weekend Jazzfest

hope it’s been warmer for you

I’m headed back to nyc mid February

cant be as cold as the holidays were, right?!?!

>>>cant be as cold as the holidays were, right?!?!

That was a pretty cold blast and happy to report that we have had a couple of warm spells since then, including this weekend in the 40's and last weekend in the high 50's!  What's bringing you back to the city in February?

February is actually predicted as yet another 'Arctic Blast', let's say 2/15 -. 2/23 times.

But what the heck do I know,  as a lowly outdoor worker whitc(h) toils out in the Woods ??

All I can say is that 5-10 F temps freeze up the Dawg Water bowl rather quickly,  and cars / trucks have to warm up a bit...

Fun in the sun- jk!

great deal on airfare and time to hang in city and visit museums and such, hang out, without rushing to MSG!

lmk if anyone sees any great exhibitions I should check out

The Met no longer pay as you wish.

Did anyone who put in for the ticket lottery have their account charged yet?   I put in for a three night pass at the Gorge and haven't seen or heard anything, although the lottery closed yesterday morning.

I did manage to snag a coveted Wild Horse camping spot, although my buddy got shut out after he attempted to reserve a spot just a few hours after they went on sale.  Thanks.

not yet

nope

hmmmmm.... merriweather post ~ wheels are turning...

Charges are coming in now...

Thanks.  I just saw the charge too.  Looks like everything worked.

put in for 2 two night passes for BGCA... no charges yet.

i got a charge for something  idk what yet though.

Yabba Dabba Doo! Mrs. Tofu Head and I got 2 night passes for Lake Tahoe!

Tahoe is a blast.

See you there!

Put in for both nights of MPP

Got pavilion one night and lawn the other

Gonna try public onsale, buy my (highly marked up) lawn on stubhub, bitchez!! devil

Looks like we're in for BGCA.

Rejected for both nights at BGCA.

congrats hall.

enjoy!

still holding out for Watkins, myself.

"We regret to inform you that you did not get the Phish tickets that you requested. Please note that your card was not charged."     BGCC and Tahoe.

Damn. Sorry to hear about people getting shut down for Bill Graham.  I guess that is the difference between a 8,500 capacity venue in the heart of a major city vs. a 30,000 person venue out in the wilds of Central Washington.

Will Trey be wearing an assorted array of tight-fitting John Varvatos t-shirts?

Will Mike be applying a cheeky amount of violet eye liner?

Many many fascinating storylines with the 2018 Phish...

Thanks Goodlight!  hope you score Watkins.

PeterT, sorry to hear that.  Best of luck on the TM ticketdrop.

Shnay-nayed on my request for Tahoe  - but got the 2 day deal for BGCC which is literally across the street from my office.

I saw me with a ticket stub in my hand.....

Watkins Glen is my plan.  Is that happening?  Will tickets be hard to get?  I have no clue.  I'm being recruited by grade school friends. Sounds fun.

It's pretty much the worst kept festival secret at this point.  Glen Close tickets will be snapped up immediately but general camping should be available with no problem as long as you don't wait too long.  It sold out last time for Magnaball but there were still non advertised tickets to be had at the gate.  Go with your grade school friends - The Phish people know how to throw a great campout!

Denied.

*** Looking for one each night of Tahoe

***Looking for one each night of BGCA

Thanks for any extras that come your way!

I've never seen a show at the Gorge and it's been on my bucket list for a long time. I love the neature.

I'm also totally indecisive and thought "if I get tix in the lotto, I'll go, if not, I will not".

I got the three day dealio for the Phish at the Gorge!  Of course, I didn't realize it conflicted with Jerry Jam.  That's why I won, b/c of the conflict.

Any advice for a new-bee at the Gorge? Camping scene, traveling from SEA TAC, etc.?

Anyone else going?  Phish at the Gorge vs. Jerry Jam with my besties?!

Serious first world problems over here.

Haven't been back since Phil/Dylan played the Gorge in 2000 but did see the Phish there from 97-99.  But then again I was living up in SEA back then

Its a must see venue and a three night run with the Phish is a must do (albeit exhausting).

We used to stay in a nearby town called Quincy.  Imagine the rooms there are probably a bit more expensive now.  Super nice to have a bed, A/C and a motel pool though.  Have fun!

BTW, who's got my extra Tahoe tix!!!   Good luck tomorrow all.

Thing about tenting it at George Gorge:  when you wake up in the morning in your tent,  and it's a bit too warm to sleep in,  that's as cool as it's going to get for the rest of the day.  No trees there to deflect sunlight.  So extra shade structures,  RV with A/C,  or the nearby motel are different levels of keeping Cool.

Also,  it's FAR AWAY from everything.  Long drive from 'civilization'  so stock up on groceries and everything before you head out.  You'll want an (extra) extra large cooler full of frozen water bottles,  which can serve as replacement coolant for the main cooler(s) and then you can drink them.

Portland Ken has the right idea about Wild Horse campground.  Anyway,  there are lots of nice swimming / wading spots all around.  It's the mighty Columbia River !

Stu's observations are accurate.  The Gorge is out in serious BFE.

As for choosing between Phish at the Gorge and the "Jerry Jam," haven't been to the latter but Gorge shows are epic.  Also, the PNW in the summertime is pretty nice as a stand alone experience.  If you do come out, make sure you set aside some days on both ends to do some exploring.   While the Gorge is about a two hour drive east of Seattle on I-90, you might want to consider back roads like either Route 2 across Stevens Pass to the north or Highway 12 across White Pass to the south and spend a night or two camped up in the woods.  The cool mountain lakes and streams, glacier topped peaks, and deep woods will be a welcome contrast to the dust and heat of the Gorge on the dry side of the Cascades.

I am thinking of taking a day trip to Leavenworth, WA, which is a full blown mock Bavarian village about an hour northwest of the Gorge.  Cheezy but fun.

I really don't like scrounging for tickets on the Internet

why can't we just stand in line at tower records like we are supposed to

so far failing .....does anyone need a date for Bill Graham Civic

Got my tix. See ya in TX!

I was able to pull pit tix for sat and sun, along with a nice reserved seat for Fri in Alpharetta. Now, I just have to wait 6 months.

It took around 30 minutes but I finally got the 3 night lawn package for Alpharetta which is all I wanted in the first place, so happy camper here and looking forward to adding that to the summer travels..  Buying tickets online on ther release date has become an absolute shit show!
