A photo book about the final concert at Winterland Arena...

Forums:

I don't know if this is considered spam but I figured I'd put this up here because this guy, Jarid Johnson, is trying to get his book made.

I know Jarid a little bit, he's been a video camera operator in the Bay Area for decades, but I'm not posting this because I know him, I'm doing it because I think it's a cool idea.

The 40th anniversary of that epic night & concert is coming up, and while I know some people who disagree I believe that 12/31/78 is a brilliant show and a very unique one in the history of the band, and it deserves to be commemorated.

Check out the link & video, and hopefully you'll feel like pledging the pre-sale cost for a copy of the book.

Its cool information to me. Thanks.

The reason this is just a book is because "The Vault" who is 20 years behind the times owns all the rights to any moving images from that hall, of that band, this week..

Those guys are kicking back & having fun too.

PS- They now also own the Dead Movie (10/74) Winterland

I used the animation last week in a movie, got a High Five.

Then 2 days later, I used it again. I said to myself, if they have good sense of humor, they will block it world-wide & still give me the thumbs up.

That is exactly what they did, earned a lot of respect from me for that smile it brought to my face

Sorry but I am not pitching in for a book that will only have 500 copies.

It is a cool idea though, I am just not on board with a book that only collectors with a lot of cash will be able to buy

Fabes, you can get the book for $35 donation to his kickstarter.  Not just collectors with a lot of cash.

Dang - he looks fairly young

I just turned 26 before the show.

I was hoping to be oldest Winterland Suvivor.

May have to live a long time to beat him.

Thanks for the Heads - Up Lance Heathen.

I donated and hope to someday get a Book.

Or else I just helped fund some DeadHead's move to Burma.

I'm in.

One of the best nights of my life, why wouldn't I?

Thanks for the heads up.

Dancing About Architecture.

or better yet thom2 caught in some Kavanaugh type scandal... j/k

Did they have sweater vests in 1978?

If so I bet Thom was rocking one.

"or better yet thom2 caught in some Kavanaugh type scandal... j/k"

You mean studying so I could graduate at the top of my class and go on to become one of the most respected judicial minds of my time, so much so that my nomination to the highest court in the land was seen as an unacceptable threat to the power of the progressive left?

No, not me at that time.  But I am hoping to catch a glimpse of myself in an image.

And sadly, my taste in clothes was not advanced enough at the time to include sweater vests as a part of my wardrobe.

Good news, Jarid's project reached it's goal, so we will be getting our picture books of that night.

Thom, please let us know if you are spotted in the pages.  Lance, I'll be looking for a tall guy in a baseball hat pulled down over his eyes.
