Play that funky Music - Hollywood Swinging - Fantastic Voyage 4/28/11

Although I haven't heard the whole album of unreleased "new" songs on the actual CD yet, what I have heard is damn good. Could be a good sign that some great material in the vault will see the light in the future. 

Makes me regret never seeing him in person every time I see something like that. 

That comment is more common than not. I can remember a time soon after Purple Rain came out that a lot of GD fans brushed Prince off as a soon-to-forgotten pop star who really didn't have much talent. More schtick than substance. I had some heated arguments with others in my musical circle trying to debate that and it usually ended up with me on the losing side. While I understand that not every artist is someone's cup of tea, I am still amazed when an obviously talented individual is put down and denigrated because a person isn't wowed by the music that flows from an artist. I can still remember one person stating that they don't listen to "fags." 

Those past experiences were a big part of why I did the massive Purple Music Share project on the old zone. It was a lot of work curating those shows and unreleased albums for consumption of the Zone but the payout, to me at least, was worth the effort. 

Because this is so damn good and funky.
