45 makes decisions based on who speaks to him last.
Think of his child like mental process on this; maybe he'd heard about this guy from his actions against the "corrupt and rigged" system and initially liked him for breaking Cuomo, DeBlasio's balls, etc. He tells him he likes him and wants him to stay.
Fast forward to Wall Street types chirping in his little ears about how he was mean to them just like Dodd-Frank Bill is. Add in the fact that he's actually caught people and prosecuted, he immediately becomes a threat.
Hope this guy uses his talents to break 45 et al's balls going forward.
Jeff Sessions himself was fired by a newly elected president in 1993 when Bill Clinton won his first term in office.
The Attorney General’s actions are not uncommon. Many past presidents and their AGs have asked for the resignations of U.S. attorneys they were tasked with overseeing. In 2006 George W. Bush was attacked by liberals for firing seven U.S. attorneys. He was hardly the first. Both Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan fired a list of attorneys when they came to office. President Obama also cleaned house but at a slower pace, replacing many of the 94 U.S. attorneys one at a time instead of starting with a mass firing.
You folks are so used to having a President that abuses his authority that you can't even recognize when one is acting within their Constitutional rights as well as following historical precedent.
Of course, it was different when Obama did it. It always is.
A breitbart C and P? What the actual fuck? A new low
I guess Obama appointed a white supremacist to the highest levels of the Executive branch, an anti-environmentalist to head EPA, a racist to enforce civil rights kaws, and a Sec. if Ed who is hostile to public schools and could not answer questions about ed law or special education too?
Last week, watchdog groups asked Bharara to investigate Trump regarding foreign business deals, according to The Washington Post. The groups requested the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York look into whether the president had gotten benefits from foreign governments, in violation of the Emoluments Clause.
You appear bright enough to understand that and I suspect are unwilling to understand the differences in this equation. I do not believe there has been a situation where an incoming administration has handled it in this manner. Even Bill C's admin which turned over a huge number, did so in a methodical and communicative approach in order to ensure that the new team were brought up to speed on existing cases, etc.
While I think it's giving 45's team too much credit, there are some circles clinging to the notion that their approach was all part of the "new sheriff in town" or "disruptor" theme. Let's give them that, it's still stupid when balanced against his campaign pledges of rooting out corruption and draining the swamp. Using just the Bharara scenario, this was a guy who has gone after corruption no matter the party involved and in fact, his most recent wins as well as many on his current agenda involved Dems. Why would 45 bring him, tell him he wants him to stay on? Because he was busting DeBlasio and Cuomo's balls? Why the change of heart? Is he no longer interested in rooting out corruption, draining the swamp, etc.? Or, did Bannon or Sessions tell him "this guy will go after you as well"?
Hard not to bet against certain current prosecutions being dropped in this district in the near future (e.g. Fox News)

"following historical precedent"
Is that a lil more clear how fucking stupid that sounds?
I heard that Trump's keeping Preet onboard was extending an olive branch to Chuck Schumer, who reportedly had a relatively mild reaction to the Presidential election results...and Schumer wasn't quite as supportive as Trump may have liked.

Breitbart, Thom? You say you're not a white nationalist, but you still read and cite the platform for white nationalists?
Enough of the tired nonsense about Obama abusing his powers. Obama kept most of the 94 US attorneys on until a replacements were named.
Those 7 attorneys fired in 2006 were removed because they refused to pursue politically motivated investigations
Bharara was fired because Trump is scared.
